Debug Interface over HTTP server

Post by DarthCCC »

Hi everyone!

In the development video on "turrets in a large battle" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4XiaebqmU4 Bernd showed a debug interface using an http server that allowed to dynamically get/modify script variables. This would allow to make awesome stuff that was never possible in the previous X games (You could for example make a map for a separate screen or a tablet. It could even simplify the creation of a multiplayer mod :D).

I know ego has a lot of work to do on much more important stuff, but the funcitonality seems to be implemented already. Is it known wether ego will include it in a patch? Or is it already somehow unlockable in the current state? I tried to run a portscanner on my local computer while the game was running but I fount nothing...

Thx for the help

I checked, the game does refer to some Windows networking functions but nothing server-related. So it's safe to say that the debug server was only available in developer builds.
