You should go onto the total war forums and read about dlc they are charging for the requested features like seasons and game still needs patching.......
I agree XR needs lots of work but it's not the end of the world ........take a chill pill

Thanks very much, all it took was a cutting bit of satire and that song to cheer me up!skadog wrote: Egosoft, just purse your lips and whistle.
Who do you think pays for all this rubbish? They're not gonna make their money back, you know, I told them, I said to them, Bernie, I said they'll never make their money back.
Haha, I will say this much: the egosoft devs are handling this a LOT better than those guys handled Rome II.SupraRZ wrote:Lmao .....everytime Bernd talks it creates a **** thread ........

Then again a proper game developer would not set the FoV for a PC game to 60 degrees (setting the proper camera angle is one of the most basic 3d world lessons).Pharoah wrote:A proper game developer wouldn't have made that "assumption"calvindude wrote:No, that was an incorrect assumption on his part--an assumption that I guarantee nearly every single person on this forum would have made. That assumption is, "If this program works well on a mid-range computer, then it will definitely work well on a high-end computer." This assumption is wrong, yet not obviously so. It's easy to make that assumption. Hell, that's the whole reason why you base your decisions on the *MINIMUM* specs for games instead of whether it's been tested on your specific computer layout.Lazerath wrote:He lied saying that the game would scale across low, mid and high end systems, then admits they never even tested it on high end systems or owned any so how could he claim it scales on them when its never been tested..
THATS A LIE, THATS FALSE ADVERTISING!
I think you should only give advice when asked .calvindude wrote:I think you might need to take a break from venting on every forum in existence. I can spot your posts instantly now.UnclePaulie wrote:Its a mess and staying that way ............................ thanks lovers

This interview has confirmed my worst fears, its time to crank up the refund campaign .
Exactly, however proper Egosoft was in the past, they certainly are no longer.dzhedzho wrote:Then again a proper game developer would not set the FoV for a PC game to 60 degrees (setting the proper camera angle is one of the most basic 3d world lessons).Pharoah wrote:A proper game developer wouldn't have made that "assumption"calvindude wrote:No, that was an incorrect assumption on his part--an assumption that I guarantee nearly every single person on this forum would have made. Show me how the 'Trade, Fight, Build, Think' gameplay elements and interaction remain as deep as X game fans have come to expect" Bernd... The game I have installed on my PC called X-Rebirth is NO WHERE near the depth of the previous X Games. Your damn UI only properly handles ONE, COUNT IT, ONE FRACKING TRADE SHIP... You even says so in your interview...
Sigh.. Sorry.. getting worked up.. Was simply going to post that I agree with you... leaving the forums for a bit as I am letting this crap get me too aggrivated!
Cheers
I'm always amazed by how much goodwill Egosoft could gather over the previous years. Those guys spend the last 7 years pre-Rebirth just reselling fan-made mods for full prices which was why they were successful at all because they displayed a complete lack of talent regarding game design. Lets face it, ES were always a pretty incompetent developer that just got lucky with previous games.Pharoah wrote:Exactly, however proper Egosoft was in the past, they certainly are no longer.
I agree with this. The inteview was infuriating. Basically, he is saying....nah there is nothing wrong with the game. The design decisions are all correct and the obvious proof is that we sold so many games. (They were pre-orders >.< gaaah). Some.......less than 1% of the players are experiencing technical problems. But yadda yadda that is really just the minority and it will be fixed eventually. What a load of garbage.Xuro wrote:Bernd Lehahn: We have sold more games in the first weeks after release than at any other X game before.
We also get a lot of positive feedback, it is unfortunately overshadowed by many technical problems, but there are also many people play this game and are happy with.
I am convinced that we can influence the opinion of many people over time positive, but for the tests is of course too late. And thus we lose potential customers.
He's trolling us I'm telling you... I seriously hate this guy now.
You already got more customers then you deserved who trusted you and pre-ordered the game, that's the only reason for its success.
Please take your head out of that place where the sun doesn't shine. No respect from me what so ever after that read, if you would admit instead of constantly stating what success it was.... man I'm so pissed.
Its not a perfect translation and there is no better word in English to convey his meaning. A more literal translation would have been angering but it wouldn't be idiomatic English then.Sonic & Tails wrote:is of course annoying when some of our customers have problems
Uhmm, he considers the customers problems as "annoying"?
And people still support Egosoft. Wonderful world we live in.
CUZ you using STeAM! Most of people easier to buy game from their computer chair, than go to shop and buy DVD (and lost it lately).Bernd Lehahn: We have sold more games in the first weeks after release than at any other X game before.
Ask them: did you like storyline? especially moments when you need make trade deals? (who is actually still broken)We also get a lot of positive feedback, it is unfortunately overshadowed by many technical problems, but there are also many people play this game and are happy with.

he time has come: after seven long years of development, X Rebirth is finally available.
X Rebirth marks a new beginning in the history of the X Series and draws fans new and old into an unbelievely large, living and richly detailed universe, just waiting to be explored.
Once again, underpinning X Rebirth are the four long-standing and familiar cornerstones of the X Series.
TRADE! A fully simulated economy in which every action has consequences. Every ship you see has a task. Stop a freighter from reaching its destination and its cargo will be stopped too, causing prices to rise.
FIGHT! From small scale skirmishes to epic fleet encounters, battles in the X Universe know no limits. Choose to fight for the military, work for the police or be a lawless pirate, or if you prefer just fight when you need to defend yourself - it's up to you!
BUILD! Create your own empire! From trading stations to large factories, farms to high-tech military complexes, everything can belong to you.
THINK! A rich, detailed history and a deep complex plot await you, but you are free to decide when and where to take part.
Action-packed space battles, a realistic trading system and many opportunities for exciting discovereies as you travel the universe, mean you can enjoy a unique space opera with countless hours of gameplay.
If my memory serves me right, the ability to walk around stations in X:Rebirth was announced long before Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous appeared.MartinSGill wrote: Two things jump out at me... the first is that at the beginning of 2013 they added the ability to walk around stations. This was, and I don't think it's a coincidence, the point where Start Citizen and Elite : Dangerous were both successfully funded on Kickstarter.
I think Egosoft (consciously or otherwise) was afraid of being an "also ran". Suddenly they were no longer alone in the Space Sim market and the big names were coming back. Egosoft added the ability to walk around stations, by Bernd's own admission, around the time Chris Roberts (and even David Brabben) said they were hoping to offer that type of feature in their games (even if only at a later date, in Elite's case).
