hi all, i did find a way to get the trading back to work. not sure this is the right way but you can at least play the game.

what i did was i deleted 07.cat and 07.dat from the rebirth directory.

but you do have to start a new game.

i know people will say this is not the way cause i believe 07.cat and dat are from the previous update and have several fixes in it.
just wanted to let you guys now that trading works again. at least for me till they have the new patch out.

nice tips :)

it's possible that you brake totally the patch system and few internal mechanis doing that ... but maybe in this 7.x we have something that conflict with new fix untill 1.7 ... could be interesting that dev team know this.

By sample if you go in Albion systems, did the big rahanas and similar ships of plutarch start to move and trade again ?
New Config : Intel 8400 & 4Ghz , 4GB DRR2 on Asus P5Q Pro, ATI 4850 and Win XP 32 bits SP3.

Old config AMD 64 3400 1Mo, MSI k8n neo plat, 7800 GS+ Bliss, 2 GB RAM 3200

as i mentioned. i cant load a save game. the game will crash.
i had to start a new game. i have scouted several stations and i see the cargo lifters move again. cargo is also being delivered. i am working out som emore details. so far it looks like the trading works.

the game hasnt crashed so far. not in the gihways or superhighways.
i hope this helps so far for people and at least they can try and if it doesnt work they have to wait. otherwise they can play and try out the game.

I'll probably try some time tonight, but 07.dat having a size of 18Mb, I think you did a bit more than fix the trading bug. It might be worth looking what's inside it though.

seems to work :D used an old 1.16 savegame
crash on loading a 1.17 savegame

edit:

worked some time.. but now the cargos are bugged again :cry:

i did look inside it. and it appears there are some bugfixes aswell as some corrections about text in the menu. als the autosave feature in stations is in there.

however i am not good with scripting. i learn as i go. i will let other people do that who know what they do.

Didn't fix it for me... Cargo lifters still showing in use and clogging up trade.

Have you tried to un-/re-assign them from/to squat (after fixing the save game section "<unavailable>")? That's how I fix the issue. Cumbersome but it works well for a selected few trades.

yeah pretty sure you just removed the recent patch files. What game version does it say you are running in game now?

because modding (and yes - deleting essential game files is modding) belongs to the modding forum i guess :lol:
