Can't buy 100 energy cells from AES Energy Array 3

I found quite a few post around the net on this subject mostly regarding it bugging and being able to kick start the job by adding and removing the freighter from your squad. However I've not seen the particular problem I'm experiencing.

I got to concealed hideout as per the job, went and checked the price and despite it being 17% *under* the average, the NPC in the cockpit with me still complained about the price. After I can then go and buy cells as per normal, but my freighter cannot pick up the goods. This is because each of the three places to buy the cells already has a large 'Energy Freighter' in front of it and mine just stays still ... waiting.

I tried reloading from an earlier save and the same situation faced me when I got to concealed hideout.

I tried 'just heading off and doing a few more jobs. but the freighters are still there when I return.

I tried buying the energy cells from a different array but my freighter still sits there doing nothing.

Oh and the game has crashed 4 times so far (windows 7 is up to date and the graphics drivers are the latest from nvidia)

Its a bug with 1.17, all the ships that are trading cant receive any goods, got to wait for the next patch

Yep. I'm also stuck in this mission after restarting a third time. My freighter accepted the mission then proceeded to dock at another station in a different system! It won't undock and I think I've tried everything. Patches, patches...

I flew to the place to buy the cells with the ship in my squad but not under order to buy with no jobs in the queue. When it arrived after me, I waited for it to stop. I then flew above it ready to be pulled along by it. I then gave it the order to buy. It flew there with me in tow and actually made the purchase. Had to do the same to sell aswell. I had to comms and remove/add to squad once but it worked. Might as well give it a try.

I have 1.17 and did compleat this mission I did have trouble with it granted but I do not think it was or is a bug at least for me. I found that even after I could get info from the dock I was still not close enough to the dock to get the order through. After starting over twice I learned this and just continued on from there.

If there are ships at the 3 docking ports, I found taking one of them out free's up the spot for my own freighter. If you've got the marines, you could try capping one of them (in my game, two were Plutarc, one was Heart of Albion - needless to say I left the HoA one alone) or just beat the living heck out of it. I took out shields, turrets, launchers, engines and jump drive and then just pounded it as best I could with my weapons/missiles (Novadrones pack a nice punch and at short range, they work quite well)..

It's an option to consider to continue with the story mode.. Point of note: If you're at this point in the story, keep your eyes out for 300 food rations - you'll need them later..

Hiya,

In this regard, I think thinfs have improved quite a bit since 1.17.

If you take yourself Out Of Sector, I believe that can speed up the removal of other ships blocking docking ports.

I'm not sure if it's possible but you may also be able to cancel a trade order and instead buy the goods from a different station in case it has free ports.
