How do you get Construction URV's on a damaged ship?

How do you get Construction URV's on a damaged ship?
I took over a Freighter and destroyed it's engines and jump drive as you have to do every time you do a boarding action. This one did not have any construction URV's.
How would I go about getting them on the ship so I can start repairs? I went to a drone dealer and he had a stock of them but would not sell them to me. But Even if he did sell them to me I would not know how to get them on my ship.
I have a engineer on the ship but I don't think he can repair unless I have the drones.

You can't, unless you get the ship to a shipyard, which you can't, unless it has engines and a jumpdrive, which is sometimes possible if you let the NPC engineer repair them before the boarding is completed.
That said, if Im reading the script correctly an engineer can do the job on his own, it'll just take much longer.

I've seen this as well but i couldn't get the drones to transfer with the engineer for some reason.markdb92 wrote:You can get the drones on it.

are you sure that there are no additional steps?

I'm going to try this out again later. I'm running into a problem trying to do this... When I try and purchase the Drones from the trader even if they have a stock of construction drones I can't buy them.
Does it have to be in that order. Can I have an engineer on my ship and buy the drones after?
In any case I'm going to try this and see what happens.

Do you happen to have a full squad of marines? I had this problem myself until I lost a marine during a boarding op (bringing me down to 49/50). I was then able to buy a single Construction URV. Sadly, it appears the drones are tied to the Skunk, not the engineer, you still have them when you assign the engineer to the ship.markdb92 wrote:You can get the drones on it.

I bought me a Trojan Drone = max Marines 50
I bought me 2 Intrepid Drones = max Marines 50
I bought me 10 Constructor Drones = max Marines 40
So much about consistency.

I've tried this in every different way suggested. It does not work. The drones never go along with the engineer when assigned to a ship. What's strange is you can see the drones when you talk to the engineer on the skunk. The second you assign him\her to the ship you want to repair the don't bring them along. Also the engineer never seems to even do basic repairs unless he\she has these drones onboard. This is a very annoying problem.
I'm trying to liberate materials to build my station in the campaign. Currently 1 ship has them after searching all the zones. And now after the 1.16 patch non of the NPC ships are trading anymore. And that one ship has no construction drones onboard so when I kill the Jump drive and the engines it's borked as I can't freaking repair it.
So frustrating......

currently there is no way of doing so edit the save to add it...
add below /turret if your ship has no <ammunition>
what i do to find the ship is search for a number of wares the ship has in storage example
the seach for /turret abode that
