Could people confirm whether trading is broken?
I've been trying to buy some items for a mission but the freighters either move up to the docking gate and just sit there or don't approach the gate at all. I know there's a problem with the 100 Energy mission but is all trading broken?

It's never been at 100% but the patch this morning has killed it for me and it wont work at all now for the collect/drop off 100 e cell's.
Earlier today got to that mission and the freighter would only pick up 1 e-cell at a time but would quite happily stay in system and keep going back and forth to the station picking up 1 at a time. Before anyone says it I 100% absolutelty positive I was giving the correct trade orders. After going through this about 10 times I took a look a the freighter info and sure enough 2 trade orders queued that I had never issued - Sigh.
Restarted the game again got to the same point, this time the freighter picked up with no problems and I double checked everything to make sure, e-cells in hold - check, mission update - check. Ok off to drop off point. I had to wait 20 mins for the freighter to arrive once I got there (hmmmm) Once it arrived I issued the sell order at the mission waypoint dock, got the confirmation message from the captain and the freighter jumped out to a system I'd never even been to /facepalm. Neadless to say I could'nt get it to come back but somehow it had picked up another trade order.
At this point I exited the game and I am walking away for a month or so. The second attempt today was about the 8th time in total since Friday that I've had to run that damn mission because of game breaking bugs that caused me to HAVE to restart and I've had enough.

I dunno.
The very first time I made a buy/sell run things worked fine. Second time around I purchased metal plates or whatever it's called. Made a deal to sell. She is not going anywhere to offload. Follows me around and then just sits there. Can't find anywhere to cancel planned trips. Restarted game, planned trip is still there. Tried to offload to a different buyer but after the restart it says I have no metal plates to sell even if my hull is full of them.
I don't know if this is a bug or something (not very) obvious I am missing. My captain did send me a message an hour or so ago about "we'r working on a deal"??? The whole trade system is very convoluted as said before here. Need some reworking imo.
Now I also have fuel cells in my cargo hold. Didn't buy them. Maybe I didn't pay attention and they where there from the start?

trading works for me. make sure you select the proper station you want to trade with. if the goods are greyed out, that means there's only 1 place selling/buying them. if it has a small + next to the name, it means several places sell/buy the good. you need to open the nested list and then select 1 place, and then press next. this way the ship went where supposed to.

Ok, it sounds like it can be got to work. If we narrow down whether its a pathing issue or whatever we might be able to find a work around.
For me, I've been trying with the two freighters I have to make a trade, they approach the dock (most of the time), I get the message from the Capt to say that loading is beginning but then no drones appear to move goods. I've tried reloading a save several times now. I'm going to try it at a different dock to see if that's the problem.
Otherwise, I'll trying editing the shopping tag in the xml save doc.

Happened to me various times. I was able to fix this by moving out of sector (just enter a super highway somewhere), a bit after I got out from the super highway the loading/unloading of the ship was complete.
Encountered this too (http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=351390). Did not find a solution yet.dinnerTime wrote: Tried to offload to a different buyer but after the restart it says I have no metal plates to sell even if my hull is full of them.

There is a work around there for this issue. You gota edit the save and remove the trade, then re issue it.

It seems there are a few issues around trading...
3 trade orders per ship and no way to remove them - workaround by editing file.
Trade ship sitting in system doing nothing and following you if you move between systems. I restarted and still get this.
Doesn't seem to matter whether you do the scanning of the station or the mission after sending the buy order. Or whether you only send the one buy order where you make the buy order or anything. On my restart I made a save before doing any buy orders and every time get the same problem.
Judging by some of the posts on the forum quite a lot of people have this same issue

i did the cell selling part before this patch. 1.14
Now my ship does not want to sell at all and if i have offers for sales in my sector they will not stay in the list. Only way now to get a ship to buy is go to the station stay there and order it and make sure the ship does it but once hes done it he will take the next time you want him to sell stuff as a new buy order.

Trading is easy. I used this tutorial before completing the cell mission:

Well, I didn't need to edit any saves. And think about how many tutorials you need to watch before starting to even think of playing X3 Albion prelude??biohazard15 wrote:When you need to watch YouTybe videos, read tutorials and edit saves just to made it past trading tutorial - it's not broken.
It's FUBAR.

Lucky you, then - you didn't encounter "too many orders" bug.devastat_ wrote:Well, I didn't need to edit any saves.
As for TC\AP trading - manual trading is simple there, because freighters actually do what you order them to do and nothing more. You want to buy 100 ECells - you simply tell your TS where to buy. True, there is complicated things like managing your commercial agents (and I'm glad that Egosoft decided to made all this AI-controlled), but removing simple trade commands is just stupid. Instead, we've got offers-pixel-hunting and "you-cant-cancel-the-order" AI.
