60fps Sli Fix.....works...................
SLI BOTH CARDS WORKING 60FPS HERE IS HOW!!!
OK, finally found a way to get sli support in this game.
Download inspector and just add the xrebirth exe to the bioshock profile.
Set power management to maximum not adaptive.
Force 16x anisostopic filter.
IN GAME...
Set lod to 30
view distance to 50
effect can go up but 50 is best.
turn aa of and force fxaa in profile.
At 1080 res with 2x 680gtx working at 70% each card I get 60fps in free play, slightly lower in campaign.

This post needs more attention from SLI users, I also had a net positive increase in FPS by giving the rebirth executable to the bioshock 1 profile.
It wasn't the holy grail of suddenly everything super FPS but it did go from 5-9FPS in SLI (or preferred 10-15FPS using single card) in my benchmark POV save to 22FPS and I can see from this profile's settings that its forcing SLI's AFR2 and multi-GPU so this is a very strong start. Soo...now to figure out what properties of the bioshock profile create this magical sauce and optimize it further.
Hey Egosoft: I won't charge you to be your unwitting Alpha/Beta tester again, but seriously guys you should have done what I'm about to spend my morning doing long before releasing this title, you dropped the ball here. Shame on you.
Edit #2: I am aiming for smooth play at 5760x1080 resolution, hence the lower FPS. I'm using FRAPs to measure FPS and without vSync you can tell right at the title screen whether its going to be better or worse. In the initial try that went from ~117 FPS using single card to 197.

This is in campaign and usage is up to 73% both cards at 2560 res.

Positive Influencers:
So the major impact looks like it comes from the 0x02C00005 flag setting in "SLI compatibility bits". Without that flag my main menu FPS is ~113 and with it enabled it jumps to 197.
Setting the "NVIDIA predefined SLI mode" to "FORCE_SINGLE" brought main menu to 199FPS (+2), ingame test scene flutters up to 23 often.
Other tries so far:
Clearing the "Antialiasing compability" flag had no impact to FPS.
Opting to AFR vs AFR2 mode had no impact.
Clearing the various ambient Occlusion settings had no impact.
"Maximum pre-rendered Frames" from auto to 1 or 8 had no change.
Clearing those 6 "undefined" flags at the bottom of the profile had no change.
For reference I cleared the "SLI compatibility bits" and main menu FPS sank to 51.
Tried the SLI Compatibility bits setting for Freelancer and its also 197 (same).
Tried same bit setting as X:R & X:TC's Nvidia profiles (0x02000005) and its also 197.
Not a profile but someone in Steam forum mentioned XP:SP3 compatibility mode on the rebirth.exe: No change when tried.
Set the SLI comp bits to Skyrim's 0x42C80005: Same 197.
Tried XP:SP2 compatibility, no change to Frap's FPS readings but I have to agree it 'felt' smoother.
Set Other/"Preferred Refresh Rate" to "Override Highest Available": No change.
SLI/"SLI rendering mode" to "FORCE_SINGLE" dropped menu to 112FPS & in-game to ~19 FPS. (Inspector also showed all three GPUs pegging at near %100 usage)
SLI/"SLI rendering mode" to "FORCE_AFR2" baaad, save game loading went from 3-4 seconds to almost a minute and in-game the FPS was 8-9.
Random discovery: Something about this profile hates shifting up from single screen to triple, doh! I'd gone down to 1920x1080 to see what it was like and the game hard crashes when I try to raise it back to 5760x1080 with this profile enabled. Taking the game out of the profile and then launching/changing the res worked. Interesting.

Tried forcing vSync On via the profile:
Main menu of course caps at 60 now
In-game the test scene renders at ~20FPS both staring at the asteroids or swing around to face the space station.
I've made a copy of the bioshock profile and been testing in that, essentially I've only kept the Compability bits setting and cleared everything else as a baseline. Trying not to muddy the waters with things like 8xAA Q mode or things like that, my goal is to figure out why it won't push the CPU & GPUs up to peak for more FPS using basic settings.

ah sry I was to quick to be positive. It seems that it worked inside stations for me, where I also had low fps. Now leaving the station I still got low, about 25 fps in Frozen Circuit. Thats about 3-5 fps increase, so it has only helped a wee bit. The really strange though is that I get no difference in fps when I turn down all game graphic settings to lowest possible? Why dont I see any difference?
EDIT: Disabling v-sync gives me about 8 fps extra in Frozen Circuit, so that I can now have a minimum of 30 fps in Frozen Circuit. Thats with your recommended settings, and V-sync turned of completely.

Yes, leave vsyc off, it acts a little weird on this game. Alt tab out of game when you are playing and try setting exe priority to high in task manager, also run as administrator and disable desktop composition.
The bioshock fix will not help when you are cpu limited so try the priority fix.
Also, set the exe to xp sp2 compatibility as this makes it smoother too.
Can I ask what CPU your are using and at what frequency?
Should also mention I am using the timer resolution tool that became popular with crysis 3. This helped a great deal with that title but I am not sure it is working as well for this.

Going to a non-aero desktop netted another +2 FPS in the main menu and in-game it'd flutter between 22-24 FPS in the test scene (so almost a whole +2 in-game rendering, nice). I imagine that might something the XP:SP2 compatibility mode would also do.
my CPU is a 2600K OC'ed to 4.5Ghz at the moment and yah the game is barely using it.

No luck for me...
Using Inspector 1.9.7.2 on 331.65 drivers (never used it before)
I choose Bioshock profile. Add xrebirth.exe. Toggle FXAA to ON.
Anisotropic filtering setting to 16x (filtering mode says App-controlled ..?)
Power management already on Prefer maximum performance.
Apply changes and that should be it?
