Hello everyone!
I seem to be one of the few that is having a decent framerate (30-60). Quick specs:
Dual Monitor setup (switching between game and desktop is fine)
GTX 670 w/ 4 GB VRAM
1st Gen Core i7 930
6 GB DDR3 RAM
However my big issue is mouse lag while in first person mode on platforms. I turned off VSync and it helped but didn't solve the issue. I've also noticed it happens more often when visiting very crowded stations.
Any one found any workarounds or heard from Egosoft on this?
Decent framerate, horrible input lag

Quick update. I had an unrelated BSOD a moment ago, rebooted and immediately launched Steam/X Rebirth and loaded my last save which was on a station. Almost zero input lag! What was there may simply have been a framerate issue.
Seems clear to me that X is leaking memory. I'll pop open Chrome and IE and see if the lag worsens as well.

Ok, after opening up a bundle of browser windows, still have no appreciable input lag. Did note that X is using 1.5 GB of memory however, which seems a tad excessive. I'll visit a number of stations and see if it gets worse. Perhaps old station assets (AI and otherwise) are not being properly unloaded when leaving stations?

Got back on board my ship, went to the crew mode. BAM! lag was back. Also, it seems as if the input "pulses" in and out. For instance, to click the control panel, I had to double click very fast to get the input to register. Seems to indicate that something is disrupting the normal mouse input.
Also memory usage is up to 1.8 GB now!

Sigh. I've solved it and I think I see what happens.
I had a Saitek Cyborg PRO joystick hooked up. When I unplugged it, the lag vanished completely.
Basically, since the mouse is allowed to remain active at the same time as the joystick and vice versa, the two are competing with each other. It doesn't show up in spaceflight because you have to hold space to get the mouse to move the ship.
All EGOSOFT needs to do is add options to lockout specific inputs in specific modes. For instance, in platform mode allow keyboard and mouse but do NOT allow joystick control.
This is of course tied down to the inability for X to see differences between joysticks and gamepads.
I'm going to submit a tech support case on this specifically, will let you know what I find.
