I'll say one good thing about Steam: bandwidth is rarely an issue these days. I don't remember the last time I downloaded anything from them at less than a few megabytes per second. So preloading is better of course but even if you have to start on the 15th, an hour or two is probably the most you'll have to wait (depending on your own bandwidth )

The delivery of my UK Collectors edition was delayed until Monday the 18th due to Deep-silver not getting the CE to some retailers in the UK in time, it was always my hope to be able to play it on the day of release so i cancelled my CE pre-order/purchase and ordered the standard boxed version which they can deliver before the 15th, i guess i do not really need a set of playing cards and an led torch anyway

at least the standard edition still has a manual which is the main thing i wanted, and i got a refund of £20 back into my bank, so finally it is all good

Well I have had the boxed version (non ce) on order since October from Amazon.UK, I got it at a lower price (£29.99), so hoping I am good then.

I really want to get the physical CE but i don't have blu-ray has it been definitely confirmed that the boxed CE code will only activate the standard edition on steam? I would appreciate being able to download the extra digital content.

Yes.

Regarding your question about Mac/Linux, we are nowhere near being able to give a date for this. We will make a public announcement when we have more information, so you won't need to keep asking.

How did you cancel the preorder?

I phoned the retailer and asked them to change my order to the standard boxed edition and to refund the difference in price back to my bank.

Amazon confirmed to me today that they will ship out on the 14th to arrive on the 15th. As I paid extra for extradited post it is guaranteed before 1pm they tell me. In the uk mainland at least.
