it's not the BF3 / CDMW war here, we're far over this.

For military sims games, no one will ever say : "Ahh noo not this one !" There is simply not enough options to choose !
I play Falcon4 and DCS, what's the problem ? both have excellent points !
Same should go for Xplane/FSX

You can blame arcade games, console games for their redundency, lack of playability but good space game...
So XR in 2013, 2014, damn i don't care as long as it's a finished product ! (i do allow fair bugs however )

just wondering if coming to gamescon would worth it actually.

I think it stems from the potential we all see in X Rebirth, as backer of both ED & SC I have to say that X Rebirth contains the most potential...

I liken it to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise in that X Universe and Stalker are both rough diamonds waiting for that master cut and a polish to perfection, where by they become legends.

problem is with the demise of stalker which I loved! Metro is sort of taking its place!

Just finished Clear Sky a couple week ago. awaiting a good time to play Call Of Pripyat, maybe before Survarium, their next game.

fun fact is i always forgot that Deep Silver has some good games in stock, like STALKER and Metro. So I'm Confident to see something valuable again, from Egosoft.

I'm going to drive from Alphen aan den Rijn to Köln (Cologne) on the 24th and I'm bringing a couple of friends. I've never been to that sort of thing before so I hope it's going to be good. Normal people do go to those kind of things right? Or am I going to be the only person without acne?

Edit: If anybody lives near Alphen or will be around and wants to come along, let me know and I'll see how much space I have left. I'll be returning on the same day. It's not so far from Amsterdam International Airport but if you're coming from abroad I suppose that Düsseldorf is the cheaper option because taxes in Holland are sky high. Oh yeah and we seem to have a bit of a terrorism alert going on lately so just in case, it is strictly prohibited to bring bombs into my car (Hi CIA, AIVD, FSB or BND. Sorry to have taken your time.)

Seing how much people like Stalker all of sudden I've just getting more and more sure that overhype is much worse then underhype.

In Russian gaming communities Stalker is considered to be one of the worst games ever done, due to a lot of hype and broken promises made by developers for (mostly) russian community...

Yeahhh stalker fell well short of its mark on promises vs delivery. That's not a comparision I'd be drawing if I was a egosoft fanboi (note: I am not calling anyone a fanboi, just saying if I was one, it's not the monkey I'd be pulling out of my hat)

Actually, it was pretty much on-topic, as my point was just an reinforcement of idea that sometimes you'd better be dead silent as EgoSoft or Valve, rather then overly talky like 3D Realms or GSC (or whatever Stalker developer were called)

Deep Silver website announces Rebirth and says that there will be a demo with some parts of the game in Gamescom.

I definitely am. I would love to see more about boarding and the process of building ships and stations. Generally, I am very interested in anything they show up regarding capital ships.
