"Albion Skunk" - Seriously???

Hi Guys,

Given that you're about to embark on a quest to assert your total and absolute authority on an unsuspecting universe, would you do so in a ship with this name?

You (very likely) don't begin the game as a pan-galactic superpower.

The ship was originally named "Pride of Albion." "Albion Skunk" became its moniker after years (decades? centurie[s]?) of disrepair. So presumably all of that upgrading you do along the plot involves restoring the ship's good name.

I vote yes, but I have absolutely no problem with its default name being this for lore reasons.

So I have no problem with it, I just like rename options~

The ship is still known as the Pride of Albion! Albion skunk was given to it by the community!

if i remember correctly the previous owner didnt really treat it that well so.. thats where the "skunk" comes from

after all who wants to call a dirty stinky space ship "pride"

I voted yes, but TBH I would have voted not bothered really.

[Joke]You can call an item you own anything you like (some of them perhaps rather colourful) but in the end it will probably have a general designation recognised by everyone (e.g. TSC-P05

Skunk sounds horribly.

Pride of Albion sounds amazing.

I think that community killed the ship by naming it like this.

And BTW I like the looks of the ship. But I feel like the only one who likes how it looks like.

A little like everyone i have votes yes but i have no problems with the original name.
The problem can be with the audio name if for some part of the game some NPC say the name of the ship...

During the gamepad controls video the player character refers to the ship specifically as "the Albion Skunk" when requesting docking permission.

yes but I believe this was an after thought after the community saw the first screens and called it the skunk lol who knows maybe the pilot doesn't know the ships history at the start and finds out its the pride of albion and it has some special super doper system which allows it to patch into the old gate networks or something.

lol I didn't read that text! I was enthrawled by Bernd's passion and enthusiasm for his pet project

I don't recall the community ever having a direct say in the name of the player ship. I seem to remember one of the devs (maybe it was Bernd) explaining that by the time the player character of X Rebirth acquires the ship, it is in such bad condition that its interior possesses a powerfully unpleasant odor. So the naming convention is apparently came from one of the characters within the game universe.

As I said before, this can potentially play into the plot, as the player ship gets upgraded it eventually outgrows the "Skunk" title and restores its original name (or maybe even surpasses it).
