Well, autohotkey scripts are extremely easy to combine and putting 10 or 100 hotkeys in one file is not very difficult. It can be a bit daunting writing those hotkeys to do what you want though.

This is the best script evah =p. It really helped since I can finally use windowed mode instead of fullscreen. Thank you very much!

It is altering the size/position of a display of a window by the OS and which happens to resolve a display issue seen by some when playing any X game in a window. Yes it could go in Tech Sp/S&M (where few vanilla players would see it) but it would have to be spread over Tech Sp or S&M forums for all X games and there would be no consistency in comments, tweaks or bug-reports as a result.

It is no more a game mod than say mrbadger's savegame manager written in Java and so needing Java to be installed.
Agree 100% Alan.

Like I said, I've played too many other games, especially MMO's over the last few years, so any use of 3rd party program detection = account ban.

The flexibility of this game series is what keeps me here. :D

I wasn't arguing for or against you. I was just staying my personal experience with other games, and fully support it.

And just to reiterate, I was REALLY drunk when I made that post, and shouldn't have been posting anyway.

Is there actually any difference/advantages playing in windowed mode over the normal fullscreen mode? Or is it just that you can access other programs quicker? :)
If it doesn't work, give it a kick. If that doesn't fix it hit it with a hammer. If it still doesn't work, USE A BIGGER HAMMER!!!

I like to check for new email & things whilst waiting for sectors & saves to load.

Also, sometimes I want to check reference materials about the game (i.e. walkthroughs when I'm stuck, or volumes of cargos for courier missions).

So, for me at least, it's just the ability to access other programs.

Thanks for the reply Solomon, I was just mildly curious. It's just that I thought, rightly or wrongly, that when running in windowed mode, the game runs slightly slower. On today's modern computers, I guess the difference is negligible, (assuming the game does run slower, of course!). :)

I have heard it quoted that games generally run a little slower. 10-15% but I have never noticed it. I switch programs a whole lot and the long wait to go into and out of the program when not in windowed mode just makes me want to close it and go do something else. One of the nice things is setting it to run while in background, then switch to reddit or something else in a browser that is not full screen and still see the game running to make sure nothing bad is happening to my ship while it autodocks or whatever I have it doing at that time.

I love windowed mode because like mentioned you can switch between different things fast avoiding the game minimizing and maximizing all the time. In general playing games in full screen and switching out can lead to game crashes, although I have to admit I never had the problem with X3. I keep going back and forth between guides trying still to learn how to work and especially currently that I am trying to build a complex I keep going back and forth Xadrian.

Windowed mode in a way sets the rest of the running programs to a lower priority if not some stop, while staying on windowed mode there seem to be different things running along the game. I never really looked into why games run slower in windowed mode but I am 100% sure they run slower from years of experience especially with older slower computers in the past. With my current computer which is a bit old I see absolutely no difference between full screen / windowed mode. But I am sure people that will see the difference are the ones that their computers run the game JUST enough to be playable.

Since you have had no adverse feedback and a lot of positives, you might consider a PM to Graphil to ask to have this added to the Resources and Guides sticky. I am not guaranteeing acceptance although I cannot see why it would be rejected myself.

Unfortunately I have not been able to get this to work.

I'm not sure if I am missing something. perhaps the fact that I have multiple monitors is affecting it somehow?

How do I get it to work with a different function key?
I use F12 for steam screenshots so is it possible to put it on F11 or F10?
I write F11 in the same spot F12 is in the script but it doesn't work, even after I save and restart the script.
Any help?

Edit: I ended up just changing the steam screenshot key to F11.
