Only problematic (imo) thing with scale are Terran stations. They are just too huge =)

Getting back to the release date, I'm going to make a rough shot and guess it'll be releasing sometime this year (I get the weird feeling I said this already somewhere in this thread).

I'm sort of halfly expecting/hoping for/dreaming about a release at the end of the summer. Might seem a bit optimistic or pessimistic depending on where you stand. But the game could be done now for all we know, and Egosoft are just waiting for a good point in time when to release it. Or it could be far from done in which case I could either be wrong or they manage to finish the game by summer anyway.

In any case, I got enough games to keep me occupied until then so no rush. Just wish I would take some time and play them..

I've been thinking. And yup, I've been totally impatient. Good games take a long time to develop.

You were right guys. I was wrong in being so impatient and moaning. So for what it's worth guys, I hope Egosoft take until 2015 making this game. Hell, maybe extend the development till 2016. It's all only a little patience right? That's what we're all going for?

I'll send you my pre-order money now, 100 bucks Egosoft, we all don't mind waiting to improve the quality! I think that's the theme we're all going right?

There is a place you could spend your $100, get more content and information and not have to wait for a game behind development and then wait further for an army of Modders to make it fun to play...

But we aren't allowed to mention that game and it's hugely successful kickstarter fundraising.

I'll think you find you are allowed to mention it; I believe there's a thread in off topic specifically for it. At the end of the day, is coming here just to say that Star Citizen is better in every post really a good usage of your time?

Hearing the same Ego support staff here try and support something that doesn't even exist yet is boring some of us too.

I mean come on... they are already late on AP 3.0 now... which was expected no later than March 31st.

X3AP 3.0 is a Community venture by the modding fraternity (the people that you keep saying will have to rework Rebirth to your satisfaction) and it is not being developed by Egosoft as such who will just sign, release and distribute it (and then help support it) for them. Thanks, you're right... it has more to do with the discussion in the other thread about how Egosoft uses community modders to complete their games for them. Thank you for the correction.

I think EGO is well aware of situation now.... And it is not in their interest to take their time on XR right now.... Especially when there is competition (SC and ED) But they don't want to give us broken product...And that would damage their reputation as well...Anyway they need to be careful what they are doing rush and give us bad product or take time and be late... Ok they did make stupid mastake announcing game and later figuring out they are way over their heads but we all make mistakes and we should turn back on them just because of that

so why can you not play both? I love X series games but I still manage to play over 20 other games a year. Just sounds like toys being propelled from a toddlers means of transport.

Tell me, what is the sense of this thread? It looks like the last 100+ pages are not about release date, but more like "oh crap, egosoft is soooo crap" vs "that's not egosoft is a crap - that's you is a troll".

Maybe it would be better to lock down this thread and make a new one with actual last information corresponding the release thread? And all this crap move too off-topic forum under "Is EgoSoft embodiment of Evil or Good?" name?

And I'm not trying to make mods/admins work

There is no point locking/moving this thread anyway as many others would be started here with the same stuff or it would instead appear in other unrelated topic threads. This is the generic release date 'bucket' thread where related opinions and speculation may be stated (if within the forum rules).

The fact that there is rarely anything new to post about here just now does not really deter some people from posting anyway and then others will feel the need to respond. As I have said before, there is no enforcement that says that people have to post in or read this thread (apart from Moderators and Admins maybe).
