Rebirth release date. - Part 2

I'm really disappointed, i was waiting the first April so much cause I thought we would have see an incredible screenshot or video with a fake interface or something like this but who still a true ingame screenshot/video like the last year.

This story become the most ridiculous ever, it will maybe before worst than duck nukem forever, the delay its now bigger than the dev time from the begin of the project to the first expected release date itself and we don't even know why, and we have no screenshots since a lot of time and except some new video who show things that half of us don't care about and a video who can be nice but who are filmed in a screen and not even in full screen, probably hold, i hope so cause if its not that mean that the game its maybe only at half of the development.

Duck nukem forever have a reason for the delay, he change several time of graphic engine, it need to totally rewrite all the game code, and about what we all know X Rebirth have this how and don't have changed and if anything push to rework totally the game we are not informed.
So why no more information ? why the only information you give us its just clearly just for make us stop to ask you video but nothing else ? why you never told to anyone why the game have this ridiculous delay ?
We will buy the game and give you the money you are looking for, and almost everyone in the forum already buy other X series games, i think we deserve to know rather than just waiting for waiting without know why.

So the only communication we actually get between community and team is : "we already have a thread for this"

No effort, not even a false date, or say: "ho we have forget to told you that the game was already release", not even a false video link for Rick Rolled us, nothing...That was not surprising that we still all this time without any information if you can't just make a simple joke for a single day in a year, i'm really disappointing and i think i'm far to be alone about this.
When some people thinks that a game was only vaporware, that proof that the situation was just completely ridiculous, the only things you will get its a lot of people actually boring about this who will never buy or want to hear of X Rebirth when it will be release.
And for me the question was not anymore "when" but "if" it will be release, i don't except it before 2014, but when a see that even for the first april the lack of information continue, i'm not sure it will even be release one day and don't will be simply finally cancelled.
That was nice to extend the horizon of the game and try to take new customers, but its stupid if you kill the community by do so...
By this logic it don't will be surprising to see stupid game restriction like the new sim city, i mean : nice things before delete for commercial reason or impossible to play without constent server connection...

Just one world for summary what i have say about the situation : ridiculous.

You can lock my thread or kick/ban my account, i don't care about, anyways when a see the poor information (it become something like 3 or 4 things by year) in this forum i don't will loose anything, and if its your right to don't care about us and lest us in a total ignorance, its also our right to told you what we think and feel about this reaction and this situation.

Counting is not your strong point, is it?

Official start of X Rebirth development: 2007
First announced release date: Q4 2011
Current quarter: Q2 2013

The development time from the beginning of the project to the first announced expected release date is four years, while the delay is one year and two quarters (based on the assumption that XR won't be released this quarter anymore.) Four years is clearly more than one and a half years.

So the only communication we actually get between community and team is : "we already have a thread for this"

It makes totally sense to create a new thread instead of posting in an existing one then.

I can't understand how personally some people deal with Rebirth not being released yet, It's not as if Egosoft are intentionally holding back this game for a laugh.

Tho, I am keeping a positive spirit and hoping that the long radio silence ( was it 6 months without fresh information? remember reading this from another topic/post)
is just a careful act of preparing for the huge warp in with the information: "the game is ready!".
Just like konami trying to promo metal gear solid under false name.

The ONLY other information we are going to get from "them" is X rebirth going gold, when will it happen, no idea.
But after so long period of nothing happening, the only logical explanation is to purposely keep information for bigger cake/candy.

So... calm down, brothers and sisters, you will hear the game going Gold around expected Fall 2013 era.

Next time Ego try with kickstarter funding. You will probably have more money thrown at you and assuming publisher is responsible for this radio silence, you will be able to communicate with your fanbase freely.

^barrenearth, you have posted before about knowing how you can zoom in on the screen and enhance the time on the monitor screen., if this is the case, what is the time and date on that monitor in the making of x rebirth videos??

or maybe they have been concentrating on getting everything up to scratch coding etc wise before building a huge amount of content, sectors etc and they were showing a system they are modelling and adding now? the ground works may already be down but they are modelling more unique systems.

Or how about I don't remember saying I could see the time on the clock... others have suggested cleaning up the HD version of the video and checking, I was mocking them to be honest because it is too far away to see.

Do you get an advanced copy for being a "overzealous supporter"? (since we can't use the other term)

That are pics of the staff from December 2012.

Either Sun Render guy grew his hair out real real quick and cut his beard.... or the video is from a long time ago and he has since gone grizzly adams on Egosoft.

Edit: To keep from confusing people I am purposefully being silly. There is simply no way of knowing when the video's were made... But if you look at the twitter pics from December 2012 and the video... the people look the same... meaning they are so very very behind schedule it isn't funny.

The scary thing is... You're right. There's no release date, no sign of the marketing campaign even starting, let alone it reaching the release date point. The game is not yet at "code freeze" stage (insert whichever term you personally use), not at Beta stage, and all information points to testers only just starting with an Alpha like version.

Enter thy holy Egosoft supporting knights upon their steeds to defend the progress, but this game is no where close to finished whatever way you look at it.

Considering this site and Deepsilver said 2012 release estimated I do personally think calling it delayed is fair.

And to go back even further. I just replayed the "X Rebirth - Reveal Trailer [HQ]" on YouTube put there by egosoft "Uploaded on Apr 20, 2011" Within the first 15 seconds of the trailer it states, "All scenes in this trailer were captured from actual gameplay" WOW...NEARLY 2 YEARS AGO!!! So...we dig deeper....
They had "actual gameplay" on or about April 20th, 2011 ?!?! What have they been doing since April 20th, 2011? Beta testing it?

I think back in the 2011 trailer they had a single station, with only a handful of ships. If you watch the trailer very carefully it's pretty much the same station, just from different angles. There's also only actually about 2-3 unique ships in the trailer.

Very pretty trailer but not much substance behind it. I'll give Egosoft how beautiful that station and those ships are though! Hell of a lot more detailed and less ugly then some of the current ships.

@ Egosoft Devs. Ooo question! I has a question! What happens during combat on openly exposed ships? Like the white/grey bright one in the trailer. Once shields are down will the shots directly damage the inside of the ship?

They are working on the game, been stated, that they are so far, scheduled for a 2013 release. Bernd, head honcho of Egosoft, 12 days ago asked for what videos we would like to see concerning development, within the constraing of the DNA. We had tiny updates and reassuring from CBJ that all is going well so far. Why should we doubt, that we are for a release in 2013? Because they had a delay? Egosoft made their money from selling videogames, not for providing soap operas in their forums, every delay cost them money, but against releasing a bad game that is not going to sell, it is better to delay till you have something that is playable at least.
