Awesome... Daily lurking finally pays off! I really like how they model the whole solar system in that first video. You get off the hiway and actually have to fly through the asteroid field. I wonder if those planets orbit or if they are stationary.

don't forget that these videos may be really old (pre anouncement of X rebirth, and that they may have just released them now to possibly show the "making of X rebirth, which comes to the conclusion that X rebirth may be in prime time after the X3 AP update.The game looks uber-amazing!
I like the new "big circle" reticle at about 1:00. Simple and nice! The whole UI is simple but nice.
Anybody noticed the fighters NOT MOVING while fighting?
No more dumb AI dodging non-existing lasers!
IMO admins should pin this to the up of forum.

I meant it in positive, why should a fighter dodge if nobody shoots it? It´s great, in previous games you had 50 fighters and a destroyer, hostile destroyer focused all guns on your destroyers so the fighters were not targeted by anything. All they should have done was to shoot as much as posible without needing to actually dodge anything. oh no i have no problem with what you said i was trying to make a point about how egosoft crew might have filmed the development of x rebirth and are now posting them now as maby the marketing campaign is soon to fruition, if fights dont need to move because they are not getting shot at, i have no problem if it means better AI and where even your battleships aren't just canno fodder

A fighter should keep moving no matter what, but at a slower rate... I don't think the AI can be made to move as soon as you target it (without shooting). If it doesn't move, you'd just hit it with your strongest weapons and before the AI realises that it should move well it'd be dead + take into account the acceleration...Earth ultimatum IV. wrote: I meant it in positive, why should a fighter dodge if nobody shoots it? Wow! An actual admission of continued progress? What bizarro-world have I stumbled into?
Hmm..
Really like that the sun will have an animated surface.
The highways look.. weird. Didn't expect twisty spirals/curves. Though this may make it more scenic. (The realist in me still scoffs at the idea of trying to make highways in a dynamic solar system.

A proper out of game script editor, with built in documentation? Swoon!
Still not a fan of the cockpit. I hope someone can make a no cockpit, or minimalist cockpit, mod. I will also be looking forward to a no silly blur effect when you hit afterburners mod.
Combat does not look much different than the previous X games. Same general scales, speeds, and bullet styles. Not sure if I entirely approve of that.
Though the weapon impacts were very impressive, and no more poofing of ships, it appears, so big plus there. Sounds also seemed better, though this was of course difficult to judge.
