Camera position? - Resolved by earlier reload.

Hello; I've some weird issue with 2 argon ships (discoverer & mercury)

(see screenshots)

I've no idea what triggered this, and do not know if it affects any other ships as I've only tried these 2

Other than that I've tried my Kyoto, Hayabusa & Katana seem to have no problems...

I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, on its on with the bonus package (never had any mods except x-tended for TC but I've uninstalled everything and installed AP on its own, latest version, then installed the bonus package) and haven't modified a single file and it's never happened before in over 400 hours of gameplay

Hello. Please see the forum rules Rule 8 about embedded picture size.

Your problem is most likely that you uninstalled the games but did not delete the gamefolders. The vanilla uninstaller cannot remove files that you have added in that it does not know about. Alternatively or additionally, the problem is now embedded in your saves and virtual cache.

You will most likely need to delete the X3TC gamefolder manually and reinstall/verify everything for X3TC/X3AP from Steam before loading a clean vanilla save or making a fresh gamestart. See at the bottom of this Sticky thread for directions on reinstalling the games to vanilla.

A good hint is to keep safe at least one copy of the complete updated vanilla gamefiles and BP as installed. Then when you want to start a new mod or remove a modded version, you can just copy in the vanilla version and verify it very quickly.

Good luck.

Oh, I'm sorry I quickly checked the rules and must've not seen Rule #8 squeezed inbetween 7 and 9

Well I've reloaded a previous autosave (not much of them happening, with my main ship not fitting in most stations...and sometimes exploding when undocking unless done remotely OOS) and it all seems to work out.. Would I still need to reinstall everything and removing floating gamedata or is it Save File specific?

Reloading a save will not really change anything long term. You need to purge the gamefiles of any non-vanilla material first and that means following the reinstalling procedure I linked. Your issue as pictured is also being seen in the X-T mod thread so all is not sorted with your clean-up. Sorry but there is unlikely to be a shortcut way of doing this if you did not retain a copy of a pure vanilla game installation.

You don't have to do anything of course if you are prepared to live with the bugs. Out of interest, are your current saves reported in the Player stats screen as being vanilla or modified?

They're reported as Vanilla; I've COMPLETELY forgot to mention this, my bad

The issue is experienced on X3: AP, not TC but I mentioned X-Tended because it's the only thing I've installed between my last play before discovering the problem so I thought, X-Tended being some sort of overhaul it might've modified some files related to certain ships (i.e. different coordinates on camera view due to possible model changes, again, this is only an assumption I haven't read the entire manual for X-Tended)

When I found out about the problem I've uninstalled X-Tended manually, tried again, still the same issue

I've proceeded to verify game cache via steam, still having the issue I've uninstalled the game and made sure the X3 Terran Conflict folder wasn't in my Steam folder anymore and it wasn't.

I've then proceeded to reinstall Albion Prelude on it's own, with the Bonus Pack, still having this issue I've posted here.

Following your recommendations I've tried an alternate save (Autosave roughly an hour before the problematic save) and noticed the problem doesn't seem to persist. If the issue is gone I guess everythings alright! I'll just keep several different save files from now on to avoid further problems

Ah, OK. I would do the virtual store clear if you have not done so, and I would delete the saves that you know had the issue. You could be OK after that now that you have a known clean vanilla install.

Bear in mind what I said about making a backup of the vanilla install in case you ever dabble with mods again. Good luck.

I don't plan on making my clean vanilla from Anonymous Argon to owning a small worthy empire all without mods or cheats or stock exploit with a "Modified" status :P

I've overwritten the corrupted save and everything seems to be back to normal

Thanks for your help & quick response!
