Yes you can replace it, or just copy the folder contents into the new steamapps folder.

I did the format to my system as i have informed you before.
The only issue i have now is with the sound. Bad quality with interference.
How can i solve this?

Well if I remember, you had a very old ADI SoundMAX driver for your motherboard sound chipset and when you went to update it with either of the 2 Beta drivers offered as suitable you had driver installation errors. The chipset or the driver is obviously long out of date and may even be faulty.

All I can suggest is that you disable your onboard sound and buy a cheap pcie soundcard (there should be plenty of secondhand Creative SoundBlaster ones going for next to nothing) to fit inside your system or get a USB external sound device and use that.

I managed to play since the last communication i had with you.
But i stopped playing for a long time. Today i had the same problem total black screen after launching the game. The only i difference regarding my Pc since then is that i installed a different antivir program. Esete smart security 6

Have you set up your new AV to ignore known good folders such as Egosoft gamefiles folder and your Documents/Egosoft folder and see if that works?

Also have you run a Steam verify recently?
