They probably reached the same "get of my phone you bother me" contact in DS.
BTW Playbahnosh great write up. Exactly my feelings.
Don't know the ratio of (ex?) fans that are on "this" side, maybe 5%, maybe 50% maybe 80%, but I hope ES can "afford" losing this percentage small or large (because it doesn't strike me like a company that CAN afford that).
The overall sense of "snooty" ("damn we have to feed the crowd again, go CBJ and tell them we are working on it... again") doesn't help either. Actually as I said before, it is insulting.

I will never in all my years of gaming and all my years of gaming to come understand why a series will loose a single true fan just because the release date has been moved back, for whatever reason be it the distributir or simply adding more to the game and giving it polish. The only time they could/should actually lose fans/customers is if when it is finally released the game is a bad game, you dont expect people to remain true to a bad product but asking people to have some patience over a game release is not a reason for any rational person to get upset and not buy the product. I just feel sorry for the poor soles who upgraded their PC's for Rebirths impending release only to find out its delayed and there PC will be out of date again by the time it arrives lol

I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

And yet, you're still here. You keep complaining. We hear you. I'm sure Egosoft have heard you. At this point, would you go away if we asked you to?NLS wrote:BTW Playbahnosh great write up. Exactly my feelings.

What exactly are you after? I've already explained why they're not saying anything. And anytime CBJ comes on here to say (yet again) that they are still working on the game? The complaints might go away for a day or two, but after that, it's back to the way it was. Do you seriously want him to post on the forum daily "we are still working on Rebirth"? Common sense says that if Egosoft have said that they are working on the game, then they are working on the game until further notice. When the situation changes, something will be posted. Until the situation changes, there is absolutely no point in posting anything. The overall sense of "snooty" ("damn we have to feed the crowd again, go CBJ and tell them we are working on it... again") doesn't help either. And yet you continue to reply to these posts? If there is no point in them posting there opinions, is it not worse for you to reply to those comments?eladan wrote:And yet, you're still here. I hold some slim hope that one of my posts might actually get someone to think a little beyond their own circumstances and viewpoint.koyuka wrote:And yet you continue to reply to these posts? Personally I see no problem with people posting comments like Playbahnosh, I thought it was a reasonable argument and lets be honest most comments like this are just a way of de-stressing
[/b]

I also doubt that not replying would in any way cause these types of posts to disappear. They seem to feed on each other.
I wouldn't mind so much if the posts weren't full of conspiracy theories or the ridiculous idea that ES is somehow just out to make life miserable for everyone. By all means, express a wish that the game was released by now - I think everyone here does - but doing so without the ES hate would be nice.

Wait NLS, you demand to know more about the game and repeatedly talk about how it'll never be released and how they're going to lose everyone and go bankrupt etc. etc. and when one of the developers takes time from his work on the game, or even his own personal time, to assure you that all they can say is that they're working on it, you say it's insulting?! I just... I honestly can't understand what your argument is here.

This is it. Patience is key, I think I mentioned it before. I don't think there should be "taking sides"; why is this patience so hard? I can understand simple frustration (I've had it), but simply giving up on/bashing Egosoft for not releasing more info that we don't really have a right to have seems quite irrational.dougeye wrote:I will never in all my years of gaming and all my years of gaming to come understand why a series will loose a single true fan just because the release date has been moved back, for whatever reason be it the distributir or simply adding more to the game and giving it polish. How do you get to play X:Rebirth?

ok believe it or not this is my first post on the forums ever =O yea i know i played x3 serries of the game I enjoyed verry much and of course still do.
So X rebirth eh.. not yet released, no info about when the exact date is, not enough info, no new trailer or new pics.
Well at least one thing we have is that the team is reasurring us at least once every page here that the game is still being worked on.
I am not long member in the community but i have been reading the forums for quite a while.
every time i read the forums every few weeks i set up a happy song on youtube just to let some happy thought come through from what i am reading is ofcourse regretable.
Like was told by him who was before me ( yess PookyMacMan) Patience is the key and not only from us but also the GMs, its not easy to make a game especialy if you wnat to make it good one to be rememberd and talked about every where.
OKay so i read post about people calling the game RPG;NOOOO IT'S NOT RIPPING OF MASS EFFECT WALKING THROUGH YOUR SHIP WASTING TIME they said... well (outside the fact that you can also go into/unto stations) i think its pretty awesome you get the feeling YOU are in that ship as the owner of the vessel giving orders and knowing your crew better take their advice ( and hopefully not one where the crew member says: if i were you just fly into that astroid while i go into the one and only life pod and launch it).
Well that was my raging mindblowing DAFQU talking about message... that might or might not get people angry at me/. xD

Exactly this. All that "tough boy" posturing on the forums comes off a little immature. It's quite obvious that most of it is just a bunch of people who think that if they appear angry, then ES will give them some info just for their benefit.dougeye wrote:I will never in all my years of gaming and all my years of gaming to come understand why a series will loose a single true fan just because the release date has been moved back, for whatever reason be it the distributir or simply adding more to the game and giving it polish.
I don't. I personally replied to many posts of people asking for recommendations to upgrade their PC. In all cases, my recommendation was to wait for the game to be released. Anyone who spent money on PC hardware based on their expectation of what might be required is a little daft in my eyes. Anyway, most of those posts felt less like actual requests for upgrade information, and more like foolish ploys to try and trick ES into releasing some system specs.dougeye wrote:I just feel sorry for the poor soles who upgraded their PC's for Rebirths impending release only to find out its delayed and there PC will be out of date again by the time it arrives lol

That's true. If someone loves something, they will buy it regardless of when it comes out.
The only "danger" in delays is if something similar comes up that is better than what you were waiting for. So you may pass up because you have found something better (this is a win-win for the consumer though).
However, X does not really have a whole lot of competition on there. So I do not think they'll have that problems... However, the little devil in me wishes there were more companies making these kind of games. Competition is good

yeah to be honest i have not upgraded my rig in about 12 months (i upgraded mine for skyrim 11 11 11 lol) I am confident i will have no trouble what so ever running the game as i dont think the engine is being designed to only run on the best rigs.strude wrote:Exactly this. Please stop with all this information.
Egosoft, there is way to much info out about this game, you are ruining the game for us. You should at least tag the news with spoiler alerts when you give up important details.
I know that you promised weekly screenshots and because you followed through on your word every week, there is now a HUGE pile of images ruining what could be new material when your overly informed customers are playing your game for the first time.
What we need is another forum quest in order to avoid having to release any more details about this game. That should keep people side tracked for a little while at least.
Man, that server outage almost hurt big, we where afraid there would be a break in all this information overload, but there wasn't fortunately you guys saved us from that, and it was such big news that it's still front page news 3.5 months later. Even with all the massive amounts of information you have released you have kept it on the front page, reminding us of what almost was a disaster.
You guys are doing a wonderful job keep it up!

I chose this over getting... tortured about the release like some others.
"We" as in who?
You speak for how many?
Have they secretly PMed you to talk for them?

I don't DEMAND anything (why or how would I).EmperorJon wrote:Wait NLS, you demand to know more about the game and repeatedly talk about how it'll never be released and how they're going to lose everyone and go bankrupt etc. etc. and when one of the developers takes time from his work on the game, or even his own personal time, to assure you that all they can say is that they're working on it, you say it's insulting?! I am just saying that actions will have the appropriate consequences. (like me getting banned if I clearly break the rules? well it works all ways in real Market world)
We've already seen a number of people that have not just turned their back to the whole thing, but also said so in public (those that haven't said but still done it, is definitely a bigger number). So... If you feel ES is doing what they should, suit yourself.
BTW I have clearly described more than once why I believe (and I have now VERIFIED I am not alone) their (ES) attitude can be even considered insulting. Won't do it again.
I have given plenty of traffic to the thread already haven't I? (in a perfect world ES would even send me a complementary X:R copy for doing all this publicity "stunt" for them keeping the fire alive)
Anyway... keep up your serious thread (?), don't let me ruin it. I am sure there can be 50 more pages about X:R release date... without anybody officially actually MENTIONING one. Right. Keep it up.

I hardly need to PM anyone to know that you're in the minority here."We" as in who?

This post being moved into this thread, makes perfect sense, I should have put it here myself since I mention or reference the release date 0 times.pwnstar23 wrote:Egosoft, there is way to much info out about this game, you are ruining the game for us.
