Saturn Sector Will Not Load (TC)

- Exact nature of the problem and where and when it occurs.
Cannot enter the Saturn sector. As soon as I go through the orbital accelerator, the screen goes black as normal, but the sector never loads. I have tried from both the Jupiter and Uranus orbital accelerators. I have waited 15 minutes just in case there was something seriously slow, but the sector never loads.

I suspect that you either have a 'Billion Barracudas' bug (loads of any sort of fighters in a sector) or have something like an immortal Pirate or Xenon ship that every Terran or ATF military ship from the surrounding sectors is pounding away at without result. You could also possibly have a TL or RRF capital with a script clash in there acting oddly such as just idling about.

Stay out yourself but send another ship of yours remotely into Saturn to look for any of the things I mentioned.

Off the main topic from the DxDiag, try to update your VIA sound driver to a Win7 x64 version and make sure you have disabled Ffdshow use with X3 exe files. You could also do with uninstalling the application or codec pack that installs Haali codecs as it will reinstall them if you just disable them.

Well, I sent a Kestrel into Saturn and told it to map the system. I watched while the sector map while it ran around. I didn't see any of the situations you mentioned.

Just for the hell of it, I tried to enter Saturn again while the Kestrel was there, and I had no problem at all! I have no idea what the problem was, but it seems to have fixed itself, at least while I have a presence in the system.

I am going to drop an advanced satellite in the system before I pull the Kestrel out, so that hopefully the problem won't reappear.

If the devs want to look into it, I have a save game where the problem does occur. They are welcome to it if desired.

I ran the save on latest vanilla X3TC + BP and it froze on Saturn entry. I then remotely moved the nearby UT into Saturn, moved it to a central position and released all drones. I couldn't see anything suspicious going on in there but the game still then froze on going IS, so having assets there is not a remedy.

I can only guess that something untoward was going on in there for that save and that by the time you next managed to enter it had been cleared by a job or script termination. I hope it does not happen again. I would advise copying and setting aside a save from a while before this issue happened as an emergency backup in case this problem does keep showing up in your future continued game as certain jobs are reactivated.

I had the same problem. I had taken a taxi mission to Saturn but was unable to enter the system, just as you described. I later jumped to another sector and was able to fly back to Saturn without any problem.

I could find nothing unusual going on in the system.
