Disable the .esp files for the high res texture pack? Just saying ...blazer1121 wrote:can't really be bothered finding a workaround right now tho

I've heard it all before ... you're saying nothing new ... I thought I saw a rainbow ... but I guess it wasn't true ... you cannot make me listen ... I cannot make you hear ... you find your way to heaven ... I'll meet you when you're there ...

spear combat, distance and magic finishers, home building, new ai behaviors, mount combat, huge mudcrab etc etc

@RegisterMe, Steams mod page (It'd probably be easier to get these through your Steam client), and the CreationKit in-case your looking to make your own mods.
I haven't actually used the Workshop for anything (been playing FO3), but it looks pretty straightforward. AFAIK all this is still free, hopefully that won't change anytime soon.

Thanks Icky!IcarusJones wrote:...what struck me was that what I really wanted was an armoury style room that I could display armor/weapons/shields and staffs in. I would prefer a mannequin for each armour material type, enough racks/display cases for all the unique weapons + perhaps 5-6 slots for favourite self made weapons, etc. Whether people think that is excessive or should be spread over several abodes I don't know.
I was resisting adding a third level, but based on your comments I can see having an "armory" is a good idea - so I added a basement armory.
I'll be uploading to Steam Workshop today. Here are the "final" specifications:
Mannequins for placing armor: 20 in the armory and 1 in upstairs bedroom
Shield racks: 10 in the armory and 1 in upstairs bedroom
Weapon racks: 18 in armory and 1 in upstairs bedroom
Alchemy and Enchanting stations
Large Weapon cases: 2
Dagger cases: 5 (1 upstairs)
Bookshelves: 3 large and 1 small

Saw that video on the stuff they put in earlier this week. Amazing! I really hope they release it on steam works, the game needs every one of those improvements

@Observe
Nicely done, took me literally! Layout of the armoury is a little uninspiring (good for a first effort though
) and some of the weapon racks - particularly those behind the mannequins - have the 'weapons go on upside down' problem that a lot of people seem to have.
I DL'd through Steam Workshop and it works just fine, in fact I have shifted all my pile of stuff from the Dovakhiin Hideout and put it in your Newhome (and deleted the Hideout from the game - it was way too over the top).
Is there a possibility of having an open chest or two that you can drop stuff into. I hoard jewels you see!
Anywho, nice job, will support your contributions - keep 'em coming.

Well I don't know what happened but I fired up Skyrim today and found that your Riverwood Newhome mod is no longer available on the Workshop - I guess you are working on it!
Unfortunately I also didn't know that the mods on Workshop were not persistent. Having moved 100 hours worth of gear into the new house I have ow lost the lot. Going to have to go to the console and try to remember what I had (a big task).
I also use the Skyrim Nexus where the mods are downloaded and persistent.
So, a cautionary tale for anyone using Steam Workshop for Skyrim.
@Observe, not your fault, it's Steam.

Only just got this recently (during the sale, with some extra off thanks to a coupon).
@berth: I see that occasionally, most of the time its very quick to occur nearby. The worst I see is cells being too low resolution or lacking polygon detail not too far from me; creating a seam in the landscape.
I'm on a rather dated E8400, 4GB RAM and a HD5870 (the former bits, the latter is serving well, if bottlenecked). So while I'm tempted to tweak the cell buffer up, I feel it'd probably make my CPU/memory struggle more.
That said, I've grown used to seeing textures load procedurally after loading, a la Unreal Engine so it irks me less.
On the Steam workshop, I'm divided - its nice having mods auto-update, but some of the more complex mods risk item loss if done wrong (for example, Advanced Mannequins - an update saw many users lose armour).
So unless modders create multiple files for different versions (in turn flooding the workshop), there isn't much chance to hold off on an update. Oh, and thankful for the workshop search function - it was rather painful to sift through.

Anyways I have a quest related question. I was rewarded with Volendrung hammer. The hammer was placed on a rack and was too loaded to pick it up and decided to come back for it after I dump some of my carried stuff. When I came back to the Ork village, Volendrung was gone from the rack :/// How do I find the hammer now ???

yeah, I was having the same sorta thing, just for me it started with a few seconds of lag whenever I turned around in an outside cell, then stuff would start popping into existence.berth wrote:On the High Res Texture Pack:
since installing this I'm noticing the textures loading in front of me like they used to in Oblivion. I find it rather spoils the immersion so I may decide to disable it.
Anyone else seeing this? (Playing on ultra-high with i2500k and HD6950, btw)
