Thanks for the above link.
I have used Google translate to pick out several key parts.
Maybe a low polygon mod will sort it out.
I think this is good.
Well those are the key points that I relate too.
Thanks for reading.

What ?? I see FPS probs yet again.increasing the number of polygons and texture resolution

This obviously what causes you to move in relation to the ship or station you are close to.a ship large enough to generate enough gravitational forces strong enough to easily attract certain objects, such as landfill space or much smaller ships.
NOTE...".Did not say if this limitation will exist in a secondary game". So it might be developed like the trilogy was,but no promises. You will be restricted to one, from start to finish...Did not say if this limitation will exist in a secondary game, outside the campaign,
"Quality instead of quantity....those remaining are more interesting".There are fewer groups, which include more breeds, and have more clearly defined ideologies. Quality instead of quantity. This is true for the universe itself. There are as many solar systems before, but those remaining are more interesting and filled with all sorts of things that are going through the vacuum to be less boring.
I think this is good.

This will take some getting used to.Unlimited speed highways are then used to travel from one end to another of a system, or even to other parts of space, although I think some of the gates still remain active and can be used for it. The first type of road space you can get out, the other is restricted to the destination, after all, you do not want to swerve out of the way and go to warp 5 in an asteroid.
Now this is more interesting. What will we do there,I wonder ?you can even enter the atmosphere of a planet, your ship without exploding, and even you have things to do there.
I don't see the logic there ??why it was decided to use one ship will be at that you could walk through it.
This is good. The reviewer even said he ended up thinking in the X voice! hahaOther ships that you will buy and they will need crew and captains. With them you talk when you give orders to a ship, not a monotone voice whose AI haunt your dreams for six years
So the menus have had a major overhaul. This will please many pilots here.Commander orders you can give more precise than the console commands in the X2-3-TC. They can say what weapons to use, in which direction to attack, what tactics to implement and generally how to behave....No more digging through menus over menus to give orders that you think you are looking for. You have a man to talk to you about what you want to know him. Commanders can even tell them where to shoot.
Interesting.Staff that will learn.you need employees by the way, you can hire a manager. They have different levels of talent and become more efficient over time,
So you can still capture ships or turn turn them into space dust. And we are back to targeting certain parts of the enemy ships again.Good.But this time round we can target strategically, rather than just the guns or the hull. (In an early game I remember taking out the gunnery on a certain ship, but not sure if it was X2 or a completely different game). But before that, you need to know where the parts, so you need to scan the ship, may find some weaknesses. If you do not want to ruin the ship, you can paralyze by sensor failure or you can just destroy the engines, then you can capture,
So we have clarification about occupying a player for many hours.a massively single player experience will require 10-20 hours to go, if it followed the story, or several hundred hours if want to do anything

Well those are the key points that I relate too.
Thanks for reading.

Fairly interesting read as it came across as if written by someone who's played the existing games and had a reasonable look at Rebirth. Not really anything new in there although a bit more explicit detail on the walking round stations, saying you have complete freedom to investigate every corner.
Oh and ships in planet atmosphere - I think we'd only previously had confirmation of stations there, but I had assumed you'd still be able to dock

One ship done RIGHT though - interior, crew, all the amenities.BDK wrote:Bah can't believe we're only going to have one ship .. I'll bet it can only be upgraded by completing plots. It sounds so boring.
In time we will likely see more ships, but for now its not easy to make many high quality interiors (think mass effect interior - now imagine doing it for every ship in the game) and the mechanics to go with it.
Still, it is a risky choice

The Mass Effect interior is most notable for it's complete pointlessness.irR4tiOn4L wrote:In time we will likely see more ships, but for now its not easy to make many high quality interiors (think mass effect interior)
Adding 15 achievement icons would create more gameplay content.
My complete script download page. . . . . . I AM THE LAW!

Mass effect is different type of game so there is no point to compare it with X in the term of interior usage. Mass effect's interior has one purpose while the interior in X:R will have another. What kind of purpose, we can only speculate at this point unit we get more info.

I don't know...One ship, interiors, crew interaction, increased emphasis on story...it sounds like Mass Effect has had some influence on Egosoft.Notchi wrote: Haters gonna hate

Personally, I think a game which combined the best of Mass Effect and the X-series would be absolutely fantastic. But the interior of the Normandy was not the best of Mass Effect

Perhaps the ship interior is a building block towards being able to take part in boarding raids to other ship interiors. Certainly i hope there is some good reason behind what appears to be a step sideways.

Sorry if its posted but found a new interview for today.

http://www.thegamersblog.com/2011/09/14 ... interview/
We hope you do come to the forum and post. Althought i know most of his posts are in the german section i DO hope he writes it in english and posts it in here for us too.TGB : Speaking of X Rebirth are there any exciting new features that you can tell us about?
Bernd Lehahn: Many… I am writing a series of postings for our own forums for the next few days in which I describe in depth a lot of the new game design and cool features
Tessellation he said in a previous interview would be no use to a space sim but i disagree and would be perfect mainly for asteroids, think of tessellation applied to asteroids i reckon that would be really cool and look so detailed. Ships could have extra greebles on too with tessellation and im not sure but tessellation for planets might possibly open up planets to have landscapes to fly to and fly over which would be cool too. So dx11 would be very much appreciated for a space game. So for now its dx9 api but they could patch in dx11 in some form later in maybe a mini expansion pack like them aldern or whatever missions for x3 i think it was.TGB: Will X Rebirth utilize some of the newer graphics technologies such as DX11? Does DX11 present development challenges for developers?
Bernd Lehahn: That’s not decided yet. X Rebirth will run on DX9 API as long as all the features that we need from the API are possible with it. That does not mean we may not at some point also support DX11, but for now we do not see a need.

Thanks Skeeter. The only new thing I see in there really is this:

Tim
I can only really see that as confirmation that you will be able to dock at stations. Unless there are random platforms floating round in spaceBernd wrote:You WILL [...] be able to step out of your ship and stand on platforms

Now that would be very welcome, especially on the long haul flights through Terran Space. At least it had bathrooms, with working toilets!

....
Nothing really new here, but it was nice to read.
It did just clear up a few points, but did not rule out any speculation for future development and platforms.

When I heard that you'd only get one ship to fly I had second thoughts about getting Rebirth at/near release. Now that more info's been released - particularly the apparent focus on utility drones and ship modification - it's back on my DO WANT. NAO list.
You rock, Egosoft.
Although, it looks like character models still kind of hit the uncanny valley a bit judging by the possible copilot pic. Still, it's a ginormous improvement over the zombie puppets of X2.

Allergic to work.

While not much info i thought it was interesting to note that a box art was out tho who knows if that would be the final design which i doubt. But does look nice and simple. Also in the description it tells of a struggle against some alliance. While not much there but there is the word alliance to think about.

Fairly sure the alliance has been mentioned before. And isn't that cover very similar to one of the earlier ones?
Tim
[Edit] Price is about normal for a new game! And you can tell you don't smoke (which is obviously a good thing!), if you think you can get 8 packs for that sort of price

Really? I might ask you to buy some and post them up to me
The cheapest you'll get round here, from a cheap shop is £5.50+ ranging to well over £7 for malboro's from a petrol station...
Another reason to not be so stupid as to do it (as my fiancé would remind me!).
