Hi,
Ok, maybe my game is a little glitched...I couldn't seem to claim a sector under the prior version either.
Just to confirm, by Dock you mean a Trading Station or Equipment dock now right? So, the Flower Farm L I have in this sector is no longer valid as it would have been previously? If that is the case then the message is wrong as it was saying I was short of funds...
Cheers & sorry to keep pestering you!
Edit: Ok, I gave myself 35,000,000 and the message changed to "you should be asked in a few minutes" so I think possibly you forgot to change something?
Also, I scripted myself a Free Argon Trading Station, owned by me of course, and I'm still not getting the claim option...I think my game is indeed glitched.

Hi,
I've tried changing sector but (now I've given myself + 35 million) I'm still just stuck with the "You should be asked in a few minutes..."
I've claimed sectors Ok in versions from ages ago, just not had much luck with the newer ones it seems. Anything else that might stop the request to claim the sector coming through? I'm using the XRM mod so the sector is standard, but equally it's not a plot related one either.
Cheers,
Scoob.

Ok, something screwy going on with my game...
I'm trying the d revision you provided but I still get asked for 10 million (the text says this in the instructions when enabling player sector takeover too) yet I still need 35 million in order to not be told I need 10 million to claim the sector! Weird.
On top of this I never can claim the sector regardless...I'm a little confused to say the least!
I even tried totally scrubbing my IR install in the Plugin Manager then just using your new files, in case it was screwing things up, but I still have the same issue.
There must be some incompatibility between IR and something else I have installed, that's all I can think of.
Getting a bit late (2am here) so best I sleep on this and try again tomorrow.
Cheers,
Scoob.

The default timeout for when a sector goes back to it's original owner when all the conquering race's stations are destroyed is too short. With the Eco Booster off, when races conquer a sector they only put 1 station. When that station is destroyed it defaults to the original owner. They (Argon) then have to re-conquer the sector (Split Fire) again for them to build a new station. Their TL arrives but cannot build the station fast enough the sector reverts to the original owner, again. This is also why some races don't realize that they just regained a lost sector (Cloud Base South West) when all the Paranid stations are destroyed for some reason or another. They (Argon) didn't actually do anything, believing that the sector still belongs to the Paranid but not launching any attacks to the sector because it has changed back without their (Argon) knowledge and shows as being owned by them again. The also introduces a stalemate, because while the Paranid have it recorded that they took over the sector, the Argon show up as the actual owners of the sector, so neither races try to do anything because in their minds the mission was complete. Essentially the sector needs to stay with the last race that conquered it and only Xenon and Kha'ak sectors should revert to their original owners after 1 game hour has passed with no hostile stations in the sector. Also, IR really should check and make sure that it isn't focusing too much attention on 1 sector by limiting the number on concurrent attacks on that sector to 2.

2 attacks? That wouldn't let IR have enough time to increase the token count to a reasonable number. IR does check, and it does give up after a while, but it'll increase the token by 40 for each retry. The maximum amount of retries is 31, but it will give up under certain conditions (the leader dying is one of them).
Also, you must have encountered a weird bug, it works perfectly here. With the economic booster off they'll still build stations, but at a far slower rate.

Lightly looked for this Q.. didn't see it..
When updating from a previous version, is there some action that needs to be
taken?
Going from xx.28 to xx.29
Like a "Reinstall" from the options?
or A new clean?

You think a hero is some weird sandwitch and not a guy attacking a Xeno J with a kestrel.
Sir.. I said .. A guy attacking a J with a kestrel is the sandwitch.

When the economic booster is off the job is left to GoD.Osiris454 wrote:How slow?
The Argon have 2 assault groups lingering in Split Fire and they have already taken the sector. It's like that old bug was reintroduced again. The Yaki keep 'conquering' Savage Spur, but they already have it.
I seem to have some other issues though. The Split/Teladi was at war with Argon/Boron, but they're still fighting over the southwest area! I constantly see invasions to Hatikvah's Faith, CEO's Doubt and Great Trench.
It might change when IR decides to set retry.max.

Hi,
Right, I reverted back to IR 15.29 and started a new game to test player sector take overs.
I went to Avarice, spawned a station of my own, gave myself 40,000,000 credits and set up IR.
After the needed re-install I brought up the IR menu and had the "you will be asked shortly" or words to that effect message. However I never did get asked, despite waiting ages and ages with SETAs help.
So, something is breaking IR from asking me to claim, even though I meet all criteria. This has been the same in the test version I've tried too, so something else in my build must be conflicting.
Here's my Mod and Script list, if anyone can advice I'd apprecate it:
MOD:
. XRM - v1.03b
Scripts installed via Plugin Manager v1.40 (Beta 5):
. AP Libraries - v2.2 (IR)
. Bulk Transporter Upgrade - v1.15
. Cheat Collection Package (only installed to aid testing this bug, not usually used) - v1.60
. Improved Races - v15.29
. JSON parser library - v1.1
. Marine Repairs - v1.02
. NPC Bailing Addon - v1.7.8
. Salvage Command Suite - v4.02
. Satellite Early Warning Network - v1.22
. Space Loot Transporter - v3.6.2
With Plugin Manager:
. Community Plugin Configuration - v1.41
. Hotkey Manager - v1.11
. Ware Manager - v1.01
Manual Install:
. MARS - v5.08
. Lucikes trade scripts (CAG, CLS etc.) Most recent package from July.
. Anarkis Defence System - v2.65
That's it, not a large list compared to many, but something there must be breaking IR.
Any and all input welcome.
Cheers,
Scoob.

Hi again,
A bit of an update:
I managed to get the sector takeover request to trigger, I now own the sector.
I did however have to edit the script for it to work...I was trying to find out what condition was blocking the script from running properly. As a test I removed the following lines from Version 39 (15.29) of plugin.ir.player.takeovers:
Line 001 and 002 - checks for plugin.ir.player.takeover.locked
Line 080 and 081 - checks that %last.asked != $sector
Upon running a re-install this triggered the claim sector question right away. So, I can only assume that either the plugin thought I DIDN'T have player takeovers enabled when I did or, more likely, something was screwed up regarding the last.asked bit...really odd regardless.
Anyway, after I got the sector I saved, uninstalled/re-installed 15.29 via the plugin manager (to fix what I'd edited) and reloaded. Hopefully things are working as they should now.
Cheers,
Scoob.

Hi,
Has anyone had the Xenon take any sectors for a game started with 15.28/29?
I my game the Xenon are still staying put - they have a HUGE fleet in many of their sectors but they're just camping out.
The Kha'ak are very active, mainly in easy to take over Unknown sectors, yet they are hard to route out once there - the near instant respawn of a Kha'ak station when the old one is destroyed contributes to this, though it's being worked on currently.
The Yaki are taking sectors nicely, however they appear to extend their Hikari towers two or even three sectors away from their own, which seems a little extreme. I also note that despite the Yaki taking sectors, they always show as zero taken - the sectors they do take appear in the Race takeover section however.
The Races take the odd Pirate sector, but cannot touch Xenon or Kha'ak sectors it seems...they try, but fail.
Cheers,
Scoob.

Ever since the old versions of 7ate9tin11s original IR, I've experienced the Kha'ak to go for the easy targets (Unknown Sectors, Freedoms Reach). They turtle around in those systems a bit, until they launch a large scale invasion across the universe.
I'm always playing on insane though.
Might want to place a small fleet there to guard the sector.
EDIT: Wow, I just noticed the Xenon has taken over the entire North-Eastern area of the map. I'll have to remedy that.

Yes. GoD will ensure that all Xenon sectors have Xenon ships or stations.Joey1974 wrote:Updated to 15.29. Took over Xenon Sector 472 a couple of ingame hours ago (with 15.27). Suddenly a Xenon Station spawned in my sector. Is that normal ?
