I'm working on the final normal X-Universe compatible version now. Could take a couple of weeks to get finished, but it will be fully compatible with the original plots and be basically a final rebalance before the next phase of XTL kicks into gear. This changes the layout of some of the ships from Fighter to Capital and hopefully makes the different levels much more interesting and tactical.
The second phase replaces the entire universe as people know it with a new one made primarily by sms_747 for everyone to explore. when this enters public testing XTL will officially reach Beta status and the new weapons mod will be integrated fully, along with many other things
The final release will conicide with the first plot line for XTL and we are aiming for a Autumn (Fall for the Americans
) to Winter release for that part.

Hmmm, some of my favourite modders, all working on a project integrating my favourite mods, then leading to a full universe replacement? Color me intrigued!
I'm confused, though, as to exactly what's in here. I'm assuming, based on your synopsis, that this is a combination of your naval reshuffle speed increases, SRM ships, and CMOD combat? You're using your own weapon setups, or do you use the SRM weapons?
Improved Races is *not* merged, and must be added separately?

Jack08 is making an XTL compatible version of IR that takes advantage of all the alterations in Phase 1. For Phase 2 it is going to be fully integrated along with the economy changes (which are vast).
SRM was used as the base as it incorporated a lot of ships already and with Paul's and the other maker's permission's we started there, otherwise compiling all the ships would have been a lot harder. We have more on the way and the OP is going to get a major facelift with much more detail over the coming weeks.
The project started out with a need for speed, it's grown far beyond that and has it's own balance different to that of Naval Shuffle, SRM and Vanilla in a lot of ways. Shields have become more prevalent (as losing ship systems shouldn't occur straight away but is a limitation of the engine when the hull is hit) and battles last a bit longer. Fighters are less of the big ship killers they used to be and will need heavy support to take them on (M8's for instance) effectively.
On the weapons we started with a base of CMOD weapons (so the EMPR and FPD are both making an appearance) however a couple of changes have been made for Phase 1 with 4 old weapons replaced and a couple repurposed, with the addition of 7 new ones for one particular faction along with another new one for another. It brings the total count up to 41 weapons ingame.
At the end of the day Phase 1's final release (which will get updated independently of Phase 2 as needed) embodies the balance changes across the board (shields, speeds, weapons, missiles...) prior to the economic and universe changes due in Phase 2. It's designed to be compatible with most of the original TC content and hopefully with a little testing should fulfil that nicely

Well here's a preview of the new UI for XTL that I'm working on. It'll be in the Phase 1 release.

I have linked it as it's in full 1080p resolution otherwise details are lost!

Patch 32 and 33? All downloads for XTL have been removed until Phase 1's release (which is very soon). The Alpha builds are not indicative of the new balance any more so I took them down.
Not long until it's release though

Hey! would you like to be more rude? - The information was right in-front of you in big, bold letters

You should actually be thanking us - if we had left the download links there, you would have downloaded the mod in its alpha 0.5.4 stage and broken your gamePhase 1 Coming Soon
