Wow this looks nice. Good work! Be sure to drop me a line once it's more finished. The only thing that ever got between me an basic modding was not being bothered to find out what I had to change and where and how etc.
Once this can directly edit all types files and stuff, that'll be awesome.

Ok from the SRM thread, since its no longer related.

Ive tested this with Vanilla and the same non movement from enemies, didn't scan them though, will add a scanner next time to see what they are carrying.

Ok Scanned a little M5, not sure about other ships, but probably the same.

I think i found the problem, it had no weapons.

Possibly something to do with a missing file?
The Readme says "Weapons are spawned using a priorities list contained in t\8387-L044" yet there is none and later on in the Readme it says "Ensure that there are no files of the form 8387-L???.xml".

I know the previous version had it.

Basically the readme has a legacy typo, it should read "Weapons are spawned using a priorities list contained in t\8387".

If the 8387 file did not exist then there would be a whole host of other problems (you will get a number of error/warning messages on loading the save game or starting a new game).

EDIT: Need information on it wrt other targets to be able to help further.

Status Update
Information regarding pending v2.9 release of Changeling.

Main changes will be:-
  • Added support for in-memory caching of edited/created resource files
  • "cached" resource files will now be saved/loaded as part of the session file
  • Export functionality will write the changed files
The next release wll be the first release that will be suitable for testing the export game data functionality. Will try to include as much editing functionality as possible.

The fact that removing the OBS enables your mission enemy ships to spawn weapons doesn't mean OBS is the problem. I suspect that even if you remove the OBS.xml, none of the ships in your Universe are actually receieving weapons from EES, only stock.

Do you have the Lib.Gen.EquipShip file in your scripts directory?

Uhh no it doesn't seem to be required in EES 2.2, apparently it was a typo in the Readme.

Plus i no longer have 2.1.

Sorry LitCube, you have the wrong end of the stick.

WRT the included readme, there is a typo in the pre-amble but the instructions are dead-on. The installed file should be 8387.

Ignore the preamble and follow the installation instructions to the letter.

I definitely followed the instructions.

Director file is in place.
.pck files deleted and scripts in place.
t files in place and Vanilla renamed.
Type file renamed and in place.

Really doubt i messed anything up.

They don't move from the sector over til I move the Director file out.

Yeah, I know the behaviour of which you speak. It's the ships not having weapons. That's the issue.

I know this is probably a pain, but can we get a screen-shot of your T folder?

Roger, are you sure the T file don't need the language extension?

Advent, are you using the English version?

Ok, just as a test, and be prepared to change it back, name the 8387.xml to 8387-L044.xml.

Start a new fight mission and report back. Be prepared to rename it back if it doesn't work.
