hmm... well I dont know if that would be good. If egosoft are to head away from the X-Universe, then id like see them make their own new stuff. I feel it would cheapen their game if they used races, ships and stories from other known sci-fi's.

myself, ive watched loads of SG1, Atlantis, Star trek (TNG, Voy, DS9, Enterprise). So ive seen most of the races, ships etc. which would feel like ive already been there. If this is TNBT, then hopefully its something new altogether, or a continuation of X in a new form.

I have one question, can anyone from Egosoft at least confirm if anybody in the forum has come close to what TNBT actually is, you can answer with a hot, cold, or warm? :wink:

I doubt ego will give any 'real' clues about TNBT, not even hot or cold. Just have to wait unfortunately.

I have one question to ego although: when TNBT is publicized, will you continue supporting community sites?

btw the community links page kind-of missing my TC site off the list btw (it could read 'Roguey's (X3 / TC) site', and a link to each.

You won't get any real info from "them" (and I think Toastie could tell more than he is). As jlehtone suggests, anyone who knows will be bound by an NDA. But that doesn't stop them having fun with us and all our speculation :p

So... What is everyone hoping for it will be? Most replies I see are "I hope it's not this or that"... :D

Personally I'm hoping for a blend with a game like Galactic Civilisations 2. A HUGE (random) universe with tons of things to do. Specially research and modular ships are high on my wish-list. The same for realistic ship building, instant buying 100 TS from shipyard should be something of the past.

Basically, if I could play GalCiv2 and jump into a carrier or fighter or whatever to do some fighting myself, I'd be one happy gamer. :D Ooh! Almost forgot about planetary bombardements. *drewl*

Well there is a multipage topic about what people wish TNBT should be WHAT IS THE NEXT BIG THING? ...and WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE ,or not like IN IT, no need to go and do it here as well. ;-)

I have heard a lot of 100% trustworthy rumours about what TNBT is going to be from my auntie's dog's friend, PM me for details.

Also, I have some really good tips for horse racing for saturday.

I was under the impression that the next big thing wasn't going to be in the X-universe but something completely separate. Of course, if it is X4, then I know it'll be time to quit X3TC, though I'm sure nothing will happen for some time yet :D

Well I did think it could be X4 but only loosely based on X.

However if it is a fresh new place, atleast we have something new to explore. Im getting fed up falling down the hole "Mind the gap"...

Hopefully the new universe will be a bit more tidy as well and more based on space sim than arcade.

I forgot all about the NDA. I don't know how really tight that thing is as far as what he can say or not, but, in either case, if Toastie couldn't do it, it would have been nice of him to just say so. I'm not mad at you Toastie :lol:
