How does this play with visability?

What I mean is I often find it "too dark" out there. I guess I'm used to playing games where space is not JUST a black background, but with distand nebula and snaking gas storms and clusters of stars making it easier to see your own ship.

Often I find that I'm staring at a shadowy object portrayed on a predominantly black background. I like my look good, feel good rather than 100% science :p

Of course, some Dark and gloomy sectors are welome! :p

Solar system modification

Post by Magog »

Solar system 1.1 for IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENTS RC1

The mod IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENTS RC1 was apparently abandoned by its author connary, so I decided to try to finish it with this mod.
I tried to make changes in the continuity of connary and I hope that this new solar system is more realistic.

[Changelog]
Version 1.1:
- The sector of Mercury has been totally reworked. The sun is more beautiful, bigger and brighter. The reflection of light was increased of 400% to improve the feeling of closeness to the sun. The texture of the background was changed to give a warmer ambience.
- Other minor changes, mostly of light adjustments in some sectors in Solar System.

Version 1.0:
- The background* of the solar system has been changed.
- The light has been reworked for most of sectors in the solar system.
- The position of some planets in the solar system sectors has been modified for a different gaming experience, i hope it's better.
- Some sectors of the galaxy have a new background because they had bugs of the background texture in the original version of IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENTS RC1 by connary.

*All background modified using the new textures of IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENTS RC1.

[Bugs]
No bug is currently detected.

[Note]
I Used the fix made by h2o.Ava which includes the correction of instable sector.

Great man!
Will try it soon.

Btw. Can you do something with the "flashing" fog?

When youre flying in a M5 or something fast through a foggy sector its looking very strange and is lil bit annoying!

Keep on this work please!

It's nice too see people getting into modding.

Did you try to get a hold of Connary, Magog?
He should at least be given a heads up on what you are doing.

Cheers.

He's posted his work here and isn't claiming anything from Connary. Also Connary has already given permission for others to use his work as long as he is credited :)

Gtreat so far no planet crashes for the first sector test ;)

When youre working ion the planet textures next time maybe you can do something with the edges on the planet surface? Jupiter:

How many poly's would you like?

It's not that easy to get rid of those unless you make a more detailed sphere. The texture has nothing to do with it.

Good job Magog. I was thinking of very much the same thing also. It'd be a crying shame if all of Connory's good work simply went to waste.

The number of polygons for the planets can't be modified in the Galaxy editor. And I do not have the tools to make this change , sorry.

Funny, I did read that when I installed it.
I've just seen so many good modders getting threaded to bits whilst starting out with nothing but good intentions.

I am very happy you have taken this project onboard Magog, I did not mean for any disrespect.

Cheers!

Ingame right at this very second and would like to point out a major error. You forgot to add rings to Uranus
