We have a few things in mind, but not for this version.

The second major release will due to some things we are working on that will require it, but we just won't have ready for this version. We tried not to have a situation where we would need a restart, unfortunatly it just isn't going to be possible. After the second release though, we plan on not needing any restarts for future versions of the mod.

How far apart will the first and second major release be? (Don't have to give a fixed time frame if there isn't one but something like, it will be the next thing released or it will be released around after 4 normal patches have been released or something like that)

There isn't a timeframe established for that.
Amount of patches depends on the type and amount of bugs you'll report.

Please return your thoughts to the first release.

Forget about the second major release for now. It will take a lot of time until then anyway. No need to discuss that now.

We won't be able to return our thoughts to you guys as our brains would be melted by the sheer awesome in this mod. You'll have to find some other way to get feed back from us :P

There is not a fixed date for it, we haven't even got the first release out of the door yet. :D

There will be patches for the first release to add fixes and/or new stuff in as we finish it, but the next major release will not appear until the items we are working on that will need a restart are finished. There is no way in hell we are going to force more than one restart on people. We hate having to have one restart, so multiple ones will be a major no-no.

At a guess I would say the second release will be out about 6 months after the first release due to one very time consuming task we are working on that will require a restart. THAT IS A GUESS! I just want to make that perfectly clear. ^^

As I said though, there will be patches and extra content for the first release as we finish it, so it won't be a dry period of waiting this time around. Plus we will be keeping people more informed on exactly what we are working on with regular progress reports.

You are forgetting, that all our answers in this thread were smaller updates - thus in future there will be no big updates, just very small ones (with higher frequency).

Don't believe him. Modders always say that. I should know, I'm a modder. (Not for TC, but somethings are universal.)

Well... our problem with the updates was, that we had already announced very much, while the realization took more time than expected... thus if we are going to do only smaller updates, with only speaking about those things, that were just finished, there should be no problem.

However, it's true, that no modding team has always the same performace (there is real life, mood, hardware-problems, whatever)... thus "regular" is no term, I would use... but "frequently" should hit it ;)

And you can believe me, in the last year there was a lot of work - but indeed very little things to announce.
