I finally started my mining operation, bought a MMBS and five Falcon Haulers, equipped them and sent the brigade to Aladna Hill. Falcons homebased to MMBS, the prospectors are now working like a charm
They already filled half the cargo hold of the MMBS with ore.
Now, this might sound stupid, but how do I actually sell the Ore from the MMBS?
The CAG and the CLS won't work with the MMBS, I can only do manual trade runs, and it's rather tiresome to continuously manage the TS to go to the MMBS, freight exchange the ore, then tell it to sell the stuff, rinse, repeat. Is there any other way to somehow automate the selling process? Like a CAG continuously selling the Ores from the MMBS or something like that? Is there a way to homebase a CAG to the MMBS?
I spent 45 million credits to buy the whole mining getup (MMBS+falcons+equipment), and now I'm stuck with tons of ore and no usable way to sell it.
Any tips would help!

I know that, I'm doing that now, but I really need a way to automate the mining and selling/transporting, I don't wanna have to micromanage the selling process continuously.Requiemfang wrote:Super Freighters, all you gotta do is have a transporter and beam it over to a XL Super Freighter
I head an idea last night, tho. How about buying an EQ Dock (TL can dock there) and use it a distribution station and storage. It costs one hell of a lot of credits, I don't have that much yet, but will the CAG/CLS work with that?

If you have a station, that needs the minerals, set up a CLS2 with a Transporter Device. The pilot needs to be a Supplier or higher, so that it can transfer from the TL.Playbahnosh wrote:I head an idea last night, tho. I was just wondering if there were any plans to use drone's with this script ?
For instance at max Prospector level and using a TL an option to "start drone mining operations" where the ship would unleash x amount of Fighter MK2 or Keris drones with orders to break the rocks into collectible pieces then use x Freight drones to collect the minerals and drop them off at the home TL and possibly send other freight drones to deliver/sell.
What made me wonder this oddly enough was Gazz's goblins from MARs and I thought it would be kind of cool to see especially with the Mobile Mining Base-Ship

how would it work if i had one prospector mining with a TL using the HQ as a base and a handful of other prospectors using XL cargo hold M3's based out of the TL mining the same sector?
would the M3's unload their yields to the TL and then when the TL is full will it jump back to base and unload everything? if so will the M3 prospectors dock with the TL before it jumps back to base?

Time for a few version updates: amazing what being unemployed and trying to find a job does to one's free time..

- Command slot changed.
- Some minor optimizations.
- Prospectors working for a homebase without a supply of energy cells will now purchase energy cells elsewhere.
- If a Prospector's homebase does not deal in the selected mineral it is no longer a suitable homebase.
- A Prospector's starting location is now remembered. "Starting position" is selectable in the global configuration.
- Navigation shortcuts are set in the default configuration.
- Some minor optimizations.
- Bugfix: A homebase that does not deal in the selected mineral could still be set, despite changes. Fixed.
- Bugfix: Further testing of the last version found that the Prospectors may not serve their homebase. Fixed.

taukarrie: The M3's would mine and deliver to the TL, and the TL should mine and deliver to the HQ/complex/station you set as a homebase when it fills. How well the M3's behave when the TL jumps home to deliver is a good question, I've used TL's as homebases before but manually controlled them. I prefer to use Caiman miners (A TS, equipped with transporter devices) to deliver to my TL, so I don't have much experience with M3's.
Kainx17: I don't think there's plans for using drones. If you are really wanting to see a swarm of little collectors, a few M3's might do the job. Prospector really works best out of the sector you're in, where collision detection turns off.
Playbahnosh: The best way I know of to solve your problem? Clear the homebase of your Falcons, and they'll find good places to sell ore/silicon on their own, no intervention required, similar to the EST. TL collection is really best for when you're attempting to supply a complex or HQ using mobile mining. Another way of automating the process is to buy a Ore Mine, set some CAG to sell it's products, and just ferry ore from the TL to the mine. You could even supply the mine with energy and mine some there, but I wouldn't until you sell everything you already have.

Mods hurting Sector Traders
I think one mod I added really messed up the sector trade script somewhere. Ive been trying (for days) to get a (1) trader to sector trade but all attempts fail. They go instantly to satand by don't even to that look at stuff in a sector thing.
I wonder if best buy/sell additives mess with that inital get go?
Any one have Inpossible problems with getting STraders to get started?
Got any fix ideas?
OH and my trade mk3s have bassically everything on them to try to solve the problem shields, wep, Vinilla softwhere...
Thanks

sounds more like a vanilla issue.
heres a good way to test it out:
get the cheat script.
go to any sector with a SPP and other stations(like say, power circle)
set the SPPs to ALWAYS be fully stocked.
now remove the Ecell stock of every other station in that sector.
now assign a ST to the sector.
if it trades, youre good.
if it doesnt, follow the SM rules and ask in either scripts thread. =]

Check the Sector for enemies. I had a sector trader just sit on standby forages in Profit Share, despite having trained up dozens previously there, and knowing that there were deals to be had.
Jumped in to see what was occurring and found a Kha'ak Cluster way out, and miles above the ecliptic. One hornet missile and my ST was happy again, and started trading...

Re: Mods hurting Sector Traders
In other words you do ask whether Prospector would do so. TC S&M Posting Rules Rule #1 should apply. I'll merge to there so that Prospector's users can tell whether that script is involved. Probably not.Novia Star wrote:I have a fealing the Prospector mod did it some how. Can't be shure but it is like the only thing that changes some trading stuff scripts.
I'd think that the X-Universe Forum has several threads about vanilla Trade Mk3.
