Unless you can actually get "Deliver Ship" missions for them once you've RE'd them, you'd get 8,064Cr/Nividium, or 1,016Cr/unit of cargo. If you could get a Deliver ship, Double the numbers below.
Assuming you docked 29 Mistral SFs on the Aran & used the 30th slot for an Atmo Lifter carrying 5 Falcon Haulers, & none of the ships had any extra equipment or upgrades...
01 x Atmo Lifter = 80,000 ST
01 x Aran 120,000 XL = 22,000 XL
05 x Falcon Hauler = 5 x 64 XL = 320 XL
29 x Mistral SF = 29 x 10,000 XL = 290,000 XL
= 392,320 XL+ x 1,016Cr = 398,597,120Cr
+ Resale Value of the Ships
if you max out all the holds (dunno how much that would cost, presumably you'd be losing money on the improvements to the MSFs & Aran at some point):
Atmo = 80,000 ST
Aran = 120,000 XL
FHs = 5 x 352 XL = 1,760 XL
MSFs = 29 x 15,000 XL = 435,000 XL
= 636,760 XL x 1,016 Cr = 646,948,160 Cr
+ Resale Value of the Ships
So in answer to your question? LOTS!!!

Is this true? I've been having problems doing this as every time I try they only collect ore. I haven't managed to get a satellite as none of the stations seem to have any in stock, so what I did was fly next to a bunch of Nividium rocks (so im surrounded by them) and then order my ships to come to my position, after that I fled the sector and waited for them to get there, after they had arrived I set the ships to "collect rocks in sector" and as I mentioned.. they have only collected ore.insolent1 wrote:Theres no need to blow up any rocks, just drop the sat at the coordinates provided by Kryten and tell all your freighters to move to the position, then give command collect rocks in sector.
1 MK Shield
Ore Collector
Special Command Software Mk1
(I read that the mineral scanner wasn't required on them)
I also placed 20 mosquito missiles on one of the ships, I had no idea if they get used or not but figured they were cheap enough to test with.
Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? I figure that sending them to the location my ship was at, surrounded by the right rocks would have been just as good as using the satellite.. I'm stumped and highly frustrated that I can't seem to get this working.

Also, the cost of extensions (cargo bay, engine tunings and rudder optimisations) are added to the resale value of the ship, so no losing money.

Right but from the best of my knowledge you won't get the full value of those optimizations in the resale... roughly half the value instead. Anyways doesn't matter because the best way I have found is to eventually upgrade the entire mining fleet into 10 TLs per mining operation with Transporters and then just transfer the Nividium to a "jumpship" that can quickly get to a sector with a Shipyard and then buy a few TSs at the shipyard to again transfer the Nividium to for selling. While this takes a considerable amount of micromanaging you can make a ton of credits really fast and completely forget about cost efficiency since you are going to be making so much money you could crash the game with fleets and fleets of M1s and M2s completely loaded with M3s and weapons.... all in all however you decide to pull it off the immense amount of income is game breaking.

Although if you do decide to expand the operation from just mining Kingdom's End you could be in for some massive micro-management testing. But then again this goes into the "Think" part of the game and starts to require more and more planning. [/u]

You do get the full value of extensions on ship sale:
Mercury Hauler (light of heart): Sale Value: 331,180
Mercury Hauler (full cargo bay extension): 1,013,000
Mercury Hauler (full engine tunings): 13,690
Mercury Hauler (full rudder optimisation): 9,110
Mercury Hauler (full 'optimisation'): 1,035,800
Mercury Hauler (full 'optimisation'): Sale Value: 1,366,980 = 331,180 + 1,035,800
Estimated Hull depreciation: (529,023 (buy value) - 331,180 (sale value))/(529,023) = ~37% of hull value lost the moment you buy the ship. (I didn't bother to sell the 1MJ shield in either case - hence the estimated (shields are wares rather than extensions so suffer the reduced value on ship sale))

the caimen miners cost 300+k but already have everything and I get 15mill per ship full. just go to the south east(bottom right) UK sector there are 3 niv.asteroids w/3/5/7 in it. no one bugs you there, but I set 65 laser towers around the gate anyway(just in case) u can but the miners at pat-keep a few sectors away(remotely) just have to increase hold size to 7000. then send them on their way I buy 20-30 at a time and just make them move as a wing till they get to the uk sector then I send 4-6 collecting at a time (just depends on what I want to buy) 300mill is no problem in a few hours. then I go shopping and killing just for fun. oh yeh the sil & ore roids in that sector are close enough to build 4 closed comps with no problems(huge!!!!! comps!!!!!!! 30-50 stations on two of them!!!!! cause "I don't buy guns or misl's any more for any thing" )I have 5 equip docks there too!(needed parking lot)I jus dont put any think in them but ships. I am running w/5 boreas filled w/ioc's phoc's and flak's full sheilds and NOTHING SURVIVES!!! PARTY ON DUDES!!!!

When collecting rocks, is this done by "gather rocks in sector"? I know it was said to NOT do this, but fly manually... but how would you fly more than one ship manually at a time o.o
I've been trying this nividium method, but it's not working great for me (and the asteroids don't seem to be respawning), any advice would be appreciated. (Im VERY new to the game, obviously)

Yes, once the mining vessels are in the right spot. The gather rocks in sector command is the only way to automatically collect Nividium. That command makes them start collecting minerals from the nearest source, so if thats niv, they will collect niv.alphaman00 wrote:When collecting rocks, is this done by "gather rocks in sector"? Dont worry about actual asteroid respawns. You dont want the entire rock to come back. Debris respawns continuously.

Thanks for the info, but how fast is this respawn? I had a couple TMs collecting rocks, and they gathered all the nivid rather quickly (and didn't get all that much, I managed to get about half a TM full of it to sell off in the first "depletion")
also, does this mean I need to stay in sector to do this? (to affect the respawn as well as crack open the bigger pieces)

No. You need to stay OOS (Out of the Sector) for the respawns to work. If you stay in, they won't respawn, apparently. For instance, I tested this on the nividium asteroid spawned in Ore Belt for a mission, and I had a miner continuously operating on it for several game days, filling up more than 30 TS's before I called a halt. For the most part, I stayed out of the sector, but my infrequent visits for other reasons didn't seem to affect it much, as long as I didn't stay long.alphaman00 wrote:...

Ah...
sorry if I'm a little slow, but what if I've already gathered up most of the nividium while IS? Can I wait OOS/do other things, and it'll eventually respawn, or are they gone for good (I've seen conflicting posts in threads here)?
And, if I do this while OOS, how do I keep doing it without having to go back in to blow up the asteroids again?

I believe whatever remains after you go OOS will keep respawning.alphaman00 wrote:Ah...

The debris is what continuously respawns. Once blown up, they stay that way while you're collecting the debris.And, if I do this while OOS, how do I keep doing it without having to go back in to blow up the asteroids again?
If you do manage to collect all the debris from the broken asteroid while in sector, the asteroid itself will eventually respawn after a few game days, allowing you to start all over again.
At least, that's been my experience.
Also, there are numerous nividium debris fields in various sectors. You can also mine this OOS using the 'Collect Rocks' command, and that debris, too, will continuously respawn while you're OOS. No need to break up anything in these fields. In one game, I had a TL sitting in the one in Scale Plate Green for a long time, collecting nividium. It never moved from where it initially stopped, but still managed to completely fill 60,000 cargo space with nividium.
