I should be able to run this but I've gonna have to enable that thing that allows more than 2GB ram usage.

Can we make it 250 million at first? Just to be on the safe side. I'm also going to have to find a decent recording software. Is FRAPS any good?

FRAPS is good, but you will need to buy it.
If your looking for a free alternative, XFire's video recording function may work.

I don't think anyone will be using M8s or M7Ms as AI is, for missile boats, to put it bluntly, crap.
Livestreaming looks interesting but would I have to hook up a camera and point it at my screen or it capture what's going on on the screen without a camera?

If the AI decides to pick an M5 to lob Tomahawks at, it's going to fire all of it's stores before the first missile comes to within 20k of the M5. Not to mention that I (or whoever is doing it) won't be controlling the ships. They'll just be scripted in as Argon and Paranid for example.
Also, if your M7M, which is near your fighter wing, decides to launch a bunch of hammers at a M4 that got through the flak screen..... need I say more?

Well obviously you'd set your missile boats to attack capitals only.Technojerk36 wrote:If the AI decides to pick an M5 to lob Tomahawks at, it's going to fire all of it's stores before the first missile comes to within 20k of the M5. M6s are treated as capitals aren't they?
And like I already said, the person who's running this won't be able to set specific orders for the ships.

I've just thought up a rather worrying problem: Doesn't GoD assign its own jobs to any newly-spawned, non-player ship? So what will happen? Will the two fleets just float away, under the command of whatever random orders the game engine gives them? If so, is there any way to stop that?
Wow. Lots of question marks in that passage...

Allergic to work.
If at first you don't succeed, delegate the job to a minion.

If you had to hook up a camera and point it at your screen I would not have suggested it. That would be utterly r*******. Livestream can stream right from your screen.Technojerk36 wrote:Livestreaming looks interesting but would I have to hook up a camera and point it at my screen or it capture what's going on on the screen without a camera?
Go ahead and test it out right now, its free. See how your connection holds up, how your FPS fares, and sort out the bugs long before the competition starts.

Or spawn one fleet under the Xenon flag and the other under the Argon flagEmperorJon wrote:No, you just use 'Set race logic to 0' or something.
I get a 128kb/s connection. I doubt I'll be able to stream it well but I'll try it out tomorrow.Volatar wrote:If you had to hook up a camera and point it at your screen I would not have suggested it. You would have a hard time with weapons and such. Also as pointed out, if 1 M5 = 1 point and 1 M1 = 100 points does 100 M5s = 1 M2? I don't think so. The only way of balancing the points system is to make is somewhat equal to the credit value but it would be just simpler to use credits then.

That does not matter.Technojerk36 wrote:If the AI decides to pick an M5 to lob Tomahawks at, it's going to fire all of it's stores before the first missile comes to within 20k of the M5.
All missile boat missiles automatically retarget so as long as they do fire all their missiles, a swarm of missiles will be heading in the general direction of the enemy fleet and keep on killing.
That's the only saving grace of the missile boat... "AI".
