I was wondering about TM compactibility of Winged ATF so much that I missed one important thing - Do those winged fighters fit to fighter launch bays? They will fit landing bays for sure but launch bay are quite narrow.

just noticed from the pics that the new fighters have a bit of an engine trail to them, are you using a mod for that or is it stock ego, and if it is a mod, can you link it?

I was browsing your mod in x3 editor 2 and noticed Apricot Guns were available? Did you put those in or was it Apricots 'Cbeam' pack i installed? It doesn't make sense because his cbeam scripts shouldn't add his guns? (or do they i wonder?)
No Cbeam doesn't add guns but it modifies the names of SPARE_LASER1 and 2, I use Cbeam too and noticed this.

I've tested with both, no crash test borons were harmed. I've also noticed that all ships are have "no collision" turned on at docking and undocking so clippings wont cause explosions.

I have script related question - you made ATF Lofn buyable and if you plan to make new ATF ship buyable, then it might be a good idea to make all vanilla AFT ship buyable too (maybe exept Valhalla, as she has problems with fitting to Gate - maybe it would be good idea to replace or remodel her) ?

There is already a mod for that. "ATF Shipyard", look it up in the library sticky. :wink:

suppose theres no harm in that, although staring at the stats in Tships I noticed most ATF ships are abit OP, even compared to USC. Aegir alone has a bigger cargo bay, faster speed and more guns than any other M7 and comes in cheaper.

Couldn't agree more. I do agree that since the Terrans don't have gates then they should be slightly faster but in most cases they are just rediculous compared to commonwealth ships. Your mod has filled in the holes in the Terran fleet. These ships and an overhaul of all the races ship stats to sort of "balance" the game has made it very fun to play as a Terran.

Now that I've doused you in gratitude :D , I have a minor (I think) request. Do you think you could fix the engine flare (or lack thereof) on the Baldric Miner? I was really hoping ego was going to someday but I don't see it happening. Thanks.

Well, I think that you could raise the price of Vanilla ATF so they would be kickass, but expensive (they are special force created to fight with biggest thread to Solar system - Xenon).


Personally I have such view of Terran forces:
USC - normal navy.
your "Mass effect" USC ships - Terran intelligence and police.
ATF - special Task Force.

I got my ass kicked a couple of times today in a M3B Falchion. :roll:
Better not try to use it for dog fights... When you're under attack and try firing your missiles you're a dead man! :D

But it's a very awesome ship to use in mass on carriers and whipe a sector clean! :lol:

Speaking of the Falchion, the turrets seem to be broken since ver 1.67 unless I broke them during the mod merge process. Can anyone else confirm this? My front turret only works with the mouse button and the rear doesn't work with joystick or mouse.

Yeah it's designed to lose dogfights, unless you're dogfighting an M1.. with a cargo bay full of anti-cap torpedoes

Falchion's front turret has been removed in V1.67, if you still have it equipped remove those weapons.

Ive never used the Falchion. If it cant win dogfights, whats its purpose? :?

Ive used it as a hit and run fighter...get within 10km with medusa rapid fire installed and you can absolutely devastate a pack of fighters, then back off, rinse and repeat.

Okay, I'm having a thought. If the front turret gets removed then why not add say 2-3 gun hard points to the cockpit. On the right side opposite to the antenna stuff looks like a good place to me. :D

If you did this, you could at least swat those pesky M5s or M4s and have a chance to run from an M3 far enough away to fire missiles. I think it would still hold true to a bomber if you have the weapon generator set fairly low in line with an M4. That way, you would mostly avoid a dogfight, but wouldn't have to tuck tail and run from a pirate harrier. As it stands, there is really not much separating this ship from an M8 except for the ability to dock. :roll: Does anyone agree with me?

That was the original plan, but then I discovered why M8's and M7M's don't have guns. Front mount weapons disables missile launch points, hence the reason I added the front turret, but that has it's own down side keeps shooting your own missiles, blowing up in front of the ship and sometimes destroying the ship.

As it stands, there is really not much separating this ship from an M8 except for the ability to dock.
It's also faster and cheaper. The ability to dock bombers to carrier groups instead micro-managing their jumps makes a big difference.

Ohh...probably another one of those "hard coded" things I'm guessing with the front guns/missile stuff. Have you considered adding either left/right (mounted on top of the missile tube/engine part) or top/bottom turrets? Not both of course, I'm not trying to turn it into an M6.

Yeah, you're right the ability to dock it into a carrier makes it very useful. That's one reason I never used a bomber ( M8 ) in this game. That is, until your Falchion came along :twisted: . Now those assassination missions are much more fun than just: jump in, fire PSP, PPC, or IBL, mission complete, mop-up fighters.

Edit: Also never mind on the Baldric Miner engine flare. I see that draffut has fixed it in his bug fix mod.
