Is there a way there can be a zone setup be put in the MARS control so that your own fleet doesn't kill you in the process when they attack ships.
I've found that ships that follow you tend to attack the same threats irrespective those threats are closest to the player ship.

Another one bites the dust!!

1 = Not all, but more than just the battleships because...ogamerdg wrote:Ok then i guess my last questions would be
1. Is it worth getting the mars software for all my ships or just my m1,m2,m7,m6?
2. Do the goblins only come with the software and how do i get them?
Thanks
2 = Yes, buy MARS and one or more fighter drones
I use MARS in my personal small ship and one or more TSs purely for the goblins. I have a TS (or other cargo ship) with MARS and about 8 fighter drones on standby so that I can jump it in to pick up spoils. The automatic cargo collection is awesome.

Version 4.77 released.
Bugfix for goblin launch clearance.
Goblins can partially unload cargo containers into the ship's cargo hold if the whole container would not fit.

Hey, Gazz, i find the Goblins have trouble with loading up my ship with things i really, really, dont want....
they seem to love to pick up 4 Mass Driver Ammo, or 400 energy Crystals, and then i have to eject the items and flip about before they can pick it up AGAIN, and blow it up
Whats your advice (i would turn off retriving goods, but i love the missiles)
Thanks
Corhen

How about go into the settings and turn on goblin defense in the global settings but turn off collection? Wouldn't that do it?corhen wrote:Hey, Gazz, i find the Goblins have trouble with loading up my ship with things i really, really, dont want....

I'm pretty sure you've looked through the configuration screen, but just in case there's an option to collect only usable ammo and missiles. I don't think you get the regular wares then, however.
I've not messed with those options much myself; I generally have a TS jump in after a fight and it automatically collects everything legal. For my personal ship, I manually initiate the collection of the goods I want in my hold. I have the command mapped to my joystick so it's quite painless. Especially since Gazz coded it so that anything I specifically dispatch a goblin for is then off-limits for the TS (an awesome touch!).

MARS seems to ignore dumbfire missiles for collection.
You have to set it to allow to pick them up.
For me, the script gathers all the missiles and ammunition and leaves the trade goods.
I just think you all should just spend some more time in the config menu or the 7047-L044.xml t-file, instead of just asking for a new script version.

The first documented attempt in human history to use a rocket for spaceflight
was made in the 16th century by a Chinese Ming dynasty official named Wan Hu.
The resultant explosion presumably killed him.

It depends what ship you are in mainly. if you're only in an M7, it won't pick up PPCs, for example (excepting the Q and Thresher, of course). It's more noticeable with Terran ships/weapons as you run into more incompatibilities.vampirecosmonaut wrote:MARS seems to ignore dumbfire missiles for collection.

The selection for cargo collection will never "work" as in "pleases everyone".
And I'm not trying to. Everyone wants something different...
The solution: get a bigger ship. Have a TS super freighter or TL hoover the sector behind you.
Or write a script that instantly destroys all cargo containers that contain stuff you don't want.

gazz
not sure which of your scripts this is as i do have mars running.
the plugin i'm writing for AI boarding has a problem, when i'm using m7m's for marines which only hold boarding pods as missiles the AI fire them at ships as a missile.
any chance of putting a check in your next release, to block pods being fired?

Version 4.78 released.
- Fixed: Goblin launch invulnerability could hang in very rare cases
- Fixed: M7M should not get any boarding pods - until they learn how to use them for actually boarding playerships.

Hey Gazz,
Love the script, but I've been having one issue so far that bugs me to no end. The script insists opon using things like the PSP on fighters...
Tried script with advanced target prediction on and off (doesn't seem to do anything?)
