How do I remove this?
I'll run the game longer to make sure this problem isn't confined to one sector/one ship.
You have to download X3 Mod Manager (it's here in the forums), then simply open the cat file with it, highlight said file, right click and select "delete"
Just started using this mod. Had to drop in say it is awesome. Adds so much more immersion.
The one gripe I have is not being able to see shield/hull value anywhere. Also, in the M6 cockpit I tried, the radar is a bit small. I get around the first problem though by simply setting my personal ship to be viewed in top-left camera mini-view thing, which shows shield, hull and speed.
With that workaround, this mod is a new must-have for me. Damn good work.
There are 10 types of people in the S&M forums - those who understand binary, and those who don't.
OK. I installed MM and deleted the dust file.
I honestly haven't been able to recreate the problem in my screenshot either before or after changing the file, so sorry I can't supply more info on causes.
I also restored my gravidar and center HUD. It was disconcerting fighting without knowing where the enemy was around me without having to pan around the cockpit to see the gravidar, and not knowing the targets shield/hull value.
I think a possible solution would be moving the gravidar to a more central position in front of the cockpit

u must extract those files with X3Modmanager !
use tutorial please i cant explain all !
unable to install x3modmanager correctly--- "error downloading msvcr and zlib1 Runtime from x2e_runtime: resolving hostname
you may btry to download the file manually"
also, the install didn't install x3mmext.dll
To pepperg:
I had errors installing modmgr also. Its confusing because the msvcr and zlib1 are in the separate VB libraries d/l: http://x3mm.doubleshadow.wz.cz/download. That installer put them somewhere else besides the ModManager file, so i ran a search for them and copied into ModManager file. After that it worked fine.

sorry surferx but my english is very very bad and its hard to understand you same with google translator
The only thing i can tell you is to réinstall X3TC , patch 2.1 and install my mod first .. i suppose u have "plugin manager installer installed" and u have too much fake patches on ur directories
iam not a 3D expert,programmer, or else...
i try to help u in my best
maybe other members could help you better than me
-for lost dll , find it with google ..and add it to x3modmanager directory

I think everything is OK! Thank you PSC01.

then, find and delete "objects\environments\others\dust.pbd"
add my new dust file in cat file (my mod) (add option: check compression filter; deflate X3TC)
once inside, rename the new dust file like that:
"objects\environments\others\dust.pbd"
close x3ModManager, and run X3tc
EDIT: sry i have not really understand your question (because my link is not for a no-dust file; its a re-sized dust file)
-if you want to fly without dust of my mod, delete my file
-and if you want play without original dust, delete it directly in 01.cat of your X3TC install folders (dont forget to keep original)

Well, I use your cockpit mod (and love it) but have always hated the dust particles (not yours in particular, all dust particles. They clutter the screen). I was wondering how to simply get rid of them, just keeping the planets, objects, and background. Any idea how I could do that ?
I've got the weird problem that I think is mentioned earlier. I've got alot of other mods and scripts running so it is no doubt a conflict, I'm wondering if this mod is compatable with military HUD?
There are a number of glitches that show up when I install this mod. As a side note Shawns Cockpits works without a glitch.
Advertising graphics (Those blue screen thingys) flash repeatidly for a while then go back to normal (seems to be at random times)
When I jump into another sector the menus and Hud don't appear, seems to be because of game slow down (goes to a crawl). One time in my Boreas when I jumped into Herrons Nebula a cockpit half appeared (was seethrough like that previous person had) but it was not the boreas one but a freighters one!
As I said my game would suck to debugas I have so many things running (This MOD gets number 21.cat & dat!). I thought I would post though just incase it can be sorted as your cockpits look great.

I use the military HUD with no problem but i use ''PSCO1's Cockpits Module version 1.17'' for Ship Rebalance Mod ver 0.59 made by someone else.

Wait you have shawn's cockpits and this one installed at the same time ? while I don't think it is the source of your problem (but you never know ...) you should still start by removing it as having two mods that edits the same files is bad practice
Also, in what order are your mods installed ? in the order you listed them ? did you merge all those mods properly ?
While we await the other user's list it's hard to pinpoint something but you should follow PSC's advice in the meantime
