Yeah, the manual is great. Is it any different than the original TC manual?

As for the poster, I'm not sure about that. Maybe the poster only came with the original edition of TC.
How can one player flying one ship defeat a big gang of pirates?

Good flying, or reinforcements. Lots of reinforcements.

Love the manual...

That's one of the the things I thought that would never be written for this game.

Yeah the manual's pretty cool; it's completely wrong in some places, but still makes good reading material.

As for the poster, I bought the original release DVD version and it came with a nice shiny Trade Fight Build Think poster with the earth Taurus on the back. Don't know if the new box set comes with it.

Yes, I quite like the hardback manual! Does it really have to be 596 pages long though? It takes for freaking ever just to find something in it!

X3:TC isn't sold in U.S. stores.

It's online purchase only, though a couple stores import them from Europe and re-sell them.

You have probably not checked the news related the launch of 2.0 Aldrin missions. Take a look on the first thread of this forum

Either way, that's forbidden fruit - someone's breaking the publisher's embargo. Official release date is April 7th.

I wish us UK users had broken embargos...

Yep, they broke it, Picked up a copy in the US here from GameStop in Iowa.

And the manual is only 112 pages (not including the notes at the end)

Doesn't looks like it comes with a poster. (at least mine didn't)

Funny, the box says Terran Conflict 2.0 Aldrin Missions, but the manual doesn't. Same picture though.

I don't have the TC manual because I bought it on Steam.

However the only thing I remember from X3:R's manual, or rather the strongest impression I had is that it "smelled" like a pile of laundry that's two month overdue.

well, if someone remembers "red baron" or the "aces" series by dynamix ... those were manuals ! or the ones delivered with "swotl" by lucasgames

but it's true, good printed manuals are something rare today :/

Well that basically confirms that the manual is the same as the original TC release, if anyone was wondering (the original one is also 112 pages). I guess it makes sense, since I don't think they're adding any major new features that require documentation.

Wow.... I see April Fools Day didn't even work at all... I guess my joke was just full of fail.

I was hoping somebody would get hooked and say something like "How did you get a huge hardback manual?" but I see my intentions were lost. I chose 596 pages since that is the Xenon sector in the top right corner of the TC map :p

You should be able to access a pdf of the manual by right-clicking the game in your Steam games list, iirc.

The manual is definitely so wrong and so fun. Makes for great reading in the loo.

But kudos for real, i really miss good manuals for games, like they had in the 80s and 90s when manuals were thick and games crap.
