Gates - Terran Splatter...

Hi there, I was just playing through the Terran patrol missions (after an escort mission through Omicron Lyrae) and every time I jump through a gate in my Cerberus I always kill some terran (You have lost recognition). This always happens as I arrive. It has not happened to me in normal gates, just terran ones. Are they smaller or is something else happening?

Try autopiloting through the gates? They often seem to have traffic queued up and letting the autopilot put you into the queue may solve problems (though you do have to wait).

Alternatively, go through in your kestral (or other small ship of choice) and then command the cerberus' autopilot to bring it to you through the gate.

Indeed autopilot can take a while (especially on those patrol missions where the whole of the terran fleet is using one gate).

But why is there always an M6 in the gate when I arrive at the other side? Doh!

Yes, theres is something strange with terran gates. I exit in my trusty Kestrel, want to go full burn the moment i exit and suddenly... WTF!!! ATF Odin just sits at the exit... no its not moving... 0m/s, solid as a rock, just sitting 200-300m in front of the gate... barely dodged it :/

Thats happened to me several times in terran space... huge great ship just parked on the other side of the gate... its very annoying!!!

Even with auto pilot on my Osaka still destroys everything when it comes out the terran gates, probly because of the fact that it is roughly the same siza as the gate itself, I just feel sorry for all the poor M6s, M7s and anything else in my way :P

I think it's mostly because there is such a vast number of large combat ships
in a relatively confined space, where nobody can jump.

There's only one route, and everyone and their dog is using it at the same time.

Well if few big ships get up in front of a gate... then the collision avoidance autopilot will probably decide who is first... but if then one ship will block the gate the queued ships cant fly through and wait till the one moves away, but he will not since his waiting also... Distrubing :-P

Well, one advice i can give you is the Gateless jump script/mod. Allows to jump anywhere in the system with double e-cell cost. And im using it just to save me from frustration off *Tokyo exits the gate, looks, oooh shiny ships! RAMMING SPEED*

I've found the only way to cope with Terran space is to be awake as you exit a jumpgate. auto -pilot or not there are frequently ships sitting in front of the gate at the other end. My issue always seems to be yokohama's

Just dive straight down and hit full speed

On the scanner though, if you are in a large ship they are stuck on you...my hull vibrates and then they (as my shields drop ever so scarily) explode...

Normally I would be calm about this but Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh where is 1.4 I need it now! Sort this out egosoft etc....

Ships larger than a M3 and terran sectors don't mix very well.

Not sure if this problem still happens with 1.3 but I used to have to dodge a fleet of m7's and m6's when travelling about terran space..

They would sit in a nice cube formation just in front of the gates. I was very thankful for the katana's 1 gig of shielding..
