Im on the goner mission where you have to protect ships/stations

I have done the first one bit without any probs. It then asked me to go to company strength. well i coundntget there in time and i failed. i changed to my m5 and went to the area. there were too meny ships and had to get out of there.

it has now repeated about 10 times, finaly got my vidar there, but there have to be about 200 pirate ships in every sector around there

my pc cant cope with that meny ships, there is too much lag to do anything. do the ships not disapear when the mission fails. there is nothing i can do, the ships keep multilying and i cant stop the mission repeated.i have even tryed to abort it

Loading a savegame from before when you first took the mission would remove all the ships.

I am on the same mission, with similar dificulties. However I find that when my missions fail most of the pirate ships jump out of sector only leaving a couple. The problem I am facing is that I have been trying to complete this mission a number of times but am just out gunned and out numbered with my measly fleet. Now I am just frustrated and want it to end, but every time I abort the mission a new one appears about 30 seconds later. How can I end this mission? or better yet who has completed this mission and how was it done?


PS I have passed the first 3 or 4 parts of the mission.

I also have this problem. I thought that I could handle this with an M7 and some escort but my machine cant handle such a number of ships, so when I enter the system its like swiming in syrup.

Ive managed to clear out Tearsof greed thoug. Gona Follow a Teiladi M2 and se if it heads in to Bright profit.

Will the 1.3 pach also remove all the spawned ships and not just prevent new ones from staying?

*EDIT*
Tip. Try cleaning out one sector and then place a smal fleet between each jumpgate and the centre of the sector. (You wil need to be out of that sector for the goner ship to spawn.) This will make it easier to intersept some of the lighter ships as well, thus giving the goner ship a fighting chance.... Somthing like a snowbals chance in hell but considerably better than what it had.

Im curently at rank Assassin and my game spawns somthing like 4 M5, 4M4, 3 M3 1 M8 and about 4 M6. For me to get to the goner ship before it is destroyed I need a springblossom or somthing... which I cant get until I've done the Terran plot.....

BTW: One pirat M5 can rip away the ships shields in less than 120 secs. Might want to spawn them with a reasonable amount of shielding

***UPDATE***

1.3 does not allow you to quit the mission or does it stop the mission from sending messages every 5 mins, what I dont know is if it spawns the 99123rd set of ships still. There are still ships in bright profit? But I think I may be able to clear one of the sectors out in time.

Its a bit dissapointing.... :(

Maybe, but when you have 5 pages of centaurs go figure with the ospreys and m3's 4's and 5's... It gets a bit stupid.

I think the ships should dissapear after the mission has failed, not stay!

Yeah, I think that is a bug - I seem to remember seeing something in the files that looked like it was meant to remove them, anyway.

Well I might be able to clear tears of greed but the teladi sectors before that, no way!

Wouold appreciate a quick fix as the messsages are very annoying.

If you can clear Tears of greed; Try having somewerearound 6 - 10 M3 in that sector. Deploy them in 2 groups and have them standing by somwere between each gate and the centre of the sector. They should be able to ocupy the enemy fighters and corvets until you get there and can finish the job or they will finish the job for you (exspect losses though). it is the easyes sector to finsih the misson in since it has a Teiladi M2 stationed there. It wil take on the spawned ships after the mission is failed.

Just remember that you have to be out of sector for the ship to spawn. AI ships should not be a problem though.
This was done in 1.21 thoug.
I have a absolutly wonderfull proof to put here; But, unfortunatly, the signature field is not lage enough to contain it.
