X3:TC - Paranid hostility, bug?

I just started, and managed to get my rep up to Paranid friend. But when I moved my non-player ships in to do trade they get wiped out at once. If I go, I am friend and they are blue to me. If I leave the sector, or they go in alone, they see red dots and get attacked.

Bug, feature or something I've missed? And can it be rectified somehow?

Check your global friend/foe settings.

Paranid is set to Friend, and sent to all assets. If I send my trader to Paranid space it gets attacked asap. If I jump in behind him, the police turns blue and lets him be. So as long as I am in the sector, they say away.

This is only for the police force, the military does not care. But it is a bit game breaking for me though as it would be impossible to use an UT like this.

No, but I kept exiting and entering the sector until one time the police was red when I myself entered as well. After a dozen tries. Then I talked to the police and I had to say I fired by mistake and they stood down.

I am not sure if I have to do like this in all Paranid sectors though. And I have never ever fired on any Paranid ship or installation, even by accident. I have kept myself so far way to even do that. I am at the beginning of my game. But, the ship I sent in was captured from pirates. Maybe it had fired on someone at some time and the game still thought it hostile?

Weird thing though....

You are only borderline friendly with them so some of the police are still a bit tetchy.

If you do a run around the systems and comm a capital ship and apologise to it then it will instruct all smaller craft in-system to behave themselves.

Nuklear-Slug, if they just dislike you a bit, they should only attack you if you enter their core sectors, and even then only after they warn you to leave.

Sounds like a bug to me.

I'm inclined to agree - it doesn't sound like any behaviour which can be easily explained away. I'll move this over to tech support so the guys can look at it.
