Printable game manual

The game manual as shipped in the download version (Steam) is basically unprintable. It would cost more in ink to print than I paid for the game.

So I started playing around with the PDF in Acrobat and have just about got a version which will print nicely. All the black background images have been removed (except one which I cannot figure out yet) and the text is being changed to black. The formatting is all intact, which is helpful.

Anyway, this has taken me a couple hours to do (mostly figuring out how to do it), and I figured I'd offer it up to others here, if Egosoft will let me.

So how about it, do I have permission to post the printable version somewhere? I can host it myself. No changes have been made except the colors and removal of the backgrounds.

So is having a non-printable game manual part of your copy protection or something?

The exact reasons aren't particularly relevant; if Egosoft wanted the manual distributed in a different format then it would have uploaded it in that format in the first place. Let's leave the discussion there.
