Guys! A lot of people faced the same problem with even top-end systems (see my post above). It's not hardware issue. All mentione "magics an jumps around computer" will not help you too much. I found only one solutionto improve performance (but I'm absolutely don't like it
) - setting textures to "medium". Hope it's just for now, during awaiting of 1.3 patch.

Hey guys I found something that helped quit a bit. Remember I said I had the steam version? I launched steam and was pooking around and I found something. I went to my games, right clicked on x3tc, selected properties, on the new window I selected the local files tab and at the bottom you can defragment cache files. I was able to crank the graphic settings up to high with 4x 4x and even after a hour playing I only had the slightest of pauses, less then 2 seconds. Its not perfect but its playable now.

I defrag my harddrives once a week and it never helped with the game 'thrashing' around. I think maybe the game was so fragmented due to so much swapping out and after putting more ram in stopped that I just needed to defrag it. Now lets hope the new patch thats coming helps with the small pauses. Thanks to everyone who has helped me out me out. After waiting so long for this game to come out and not being able to play it, it was killing me. Thanks again!
