i just accepted a escort 3 freights 2 the nexts sector for thw price off roughly 200k
guess what!!
5 pirate centuars , 5-6 ospreys, 10 m3's, m4's and another 10 or so m5's!
wtf
im only a warrior and associate of split!
that fleet is enough 2 wipe out the sector!

I would assume that's why it's a 200,000cr mission. You don't think that amount of credits is just gonna be handed to you do you? (BTW, that mission is for higher level characters so...)

Erm, I can wipe that fleet out in my Terran M3+

The credits you get appear to be based on your race rank (So, if you were a Split uber friend you would get paid more). But, the number and type of ships is linked to your compat rank. A Warrior is more than half way up the combat ranks, so it seems fair to me. Think yourself lucky you didn't get 8-9 Khack Corvettes! Pirate M6's easy! Xenon M6's easy! Khack M6 I can take one on my own - just. Two or more and at least one gets the main guns on me I look for the reload button as I know I am dead.

done this mission 30times over
i survive........just but they dont!
the m6's r piss easy the m4's r a pain en mass with missiles
there was waves and waves of ships, just like a invasion mission!

Most freight escort missions seem immensely hard, even if they are said to be "Easy".

Also, I earn between one and three millions (!) on very hard Station defense missions that are substantially easier than any freighter missions I encountered so far.

That number of ships does sound high, though - did you accept a patrol mission along with the escort mission? That usually always got me killed.

I also think you are suppose to have your own fleet of ships for that mission. If you had similar firepower then it would be easier. For the money, it sounds resonable to me. Again, thats just me though.

I think the "easy/hard" scale is broken in the game. I will agree that some missions are stated as hard when they are not and some as easy when they are hard. I pay more attention to the amount of credits being offered and use that to determine how easy or hard it is. If I calculate that the amount being offered is 10% of the worth of all my fleet ships then I know the mission is easy. if it's 25% the worth. It will be more of a challenge and if it's 50% I know I will die quickly. I have seen that calculating the missions this way is more accurate then the easy hard scale.

yup ive done loads of 'hard' missions and found them 2b embarrassingly easy!
but this 1 took the piss! i had 2 cheat, no choice
p.s the fighters dont go after your ship, even when firing @ them
all they care about is smashing the stupid freighters goin @ 40km/s
n thats just gay!

If you don't like the missions in Egosoft I would recommend staying away from EVE Online. You will not like it over there. Since I play EVE Online, I expect that Egosoft has it correct. If I'm wrong, Egosoft needs to correct me (and give me my money back. I don't want it easy, I want the challenge) If Egosoft makes it easy like you want it then I don't want to play X3TC. It will just plain suck then.

I think they are borked, for a simple reason: Not for money nor good words could I get those effing transports to dock with their destination. No, they would merrily fly around the station, closing in, backing off, like mortified youngsters at a high school ball. No way they got to the target station.

Of course, that way, endless waves of attackers spawned, and no matter how fast I was (really fast, with a fully loaded Springblossom), those traders bit the dust.

Egosoft, PLEASE fix this. Transports should at least dock with the station, instead of behaving like drivers with no brain . . .

Escort missions are bugged because:

1. Enemies spawn in loops when they are supposed to spawn once, maybe twice, but the same amount repeatedly after a little while if you get to destroy them..?

2. Escorted ships dont manage to use "gates" and end up crashing.

About egosoft missions. I never said I didnt like them.. I like them much in fact.

I never said I want them easy, I like challenges, but I recognize that transport ships crashing against gates and loop spawns are bugs when I see them.
