Well I can confirm that it hasn't resolved issues of low FPS in certain sectors.
I am running it through Windows XP pro atm not tried Vista 64 yet but I have triest all different options from the min graphics details and resolution to the highest. The result is still the same.
For example I could fly around Cloud Base 9 with not a jump - perfectly smooth graphics at about 30-35 fps average but when I fly into Argon Prime it just falls to 1 fps.
What I have noticed is that when I move the craft view to certain positions then the fps comes back. but as soon as I point to the middle of the sector it drops back to 1 fps.
This also happens in random sectors - sometimes where there is not a lot of ships, stations etc but it will always happen.
My comp is self built and the spec of the comp can run Crysis quite happily in DX10 Ultra high Settings at an average of 28 fps.
I do believe this is a fault in the game but I am not software savvy enough to provide a possible reason. All I know is that my hardware is more than a match for the spec of the game.

Sadly my old savegame is running at exactly the same crappy FPS with the 1.2.1 patch as before, and a brand new game runs much much better... Exactly the same as before for me at least.
Will starting a new game now not degrade in performance over time with the 1.2.1 patch? Or it is just a waste of time since 1.2.1 didn't have any performance increase at all on my old unplayable savegame?
[EDIT] Actually checking with fraps it did increase my average FPS in my old savegame, but it's still nowhere near what it is starting a new game and going to the same sector though

If any of you feels its not fixed it is.. Id ask you to check your game config and modding or scripts if any, you can notice the increase the moment you load.
And please separate between game slow fps affecting cpu performance and high graphics slow gps due to gpu that cant cope.
Its a pleasure for me to navigate the X-Universe now and I can be sure if I have slow fps is due to my high graphic settings rather than a game thing.
It is easily noticed really.

Matey, if I'm not mistaken, your machine has the following specs:LordDivine wrote:Sadly my old savegame is running at exactly the same crappy FPS with the 1.2.1 patch as before, and a brand new game runs much much better... Exactly the same as before for me at least.

AMD X2 4800+ @2.41Ghz
2048mb Dual Channel Ram
GeForce 8800GTX 768MB
If you use windows vista, you've got a problem, since Vista eats up around 800MB of RAM by the time you log on. This leaves you with 1.2GB of available RAM for every other app, X3TC included. And the game WILL use 1.2+ GB of RAM and bring your machine to an unpleasant situation.
Other than that, X3TC relies heavily on CPU. Also, it isn't configured to utilize more than one core. From what I've seen so far on my own machine, 2.4GHz just aren't enough for X3TC.
I'm not saying that the game is bug-free, not at all. But someone has to closely observe the game, in order to be able to determine if he's looking at a bug, or hardware limitation.

I'm not suffering from low fps anymore
. Here's a repeat of a post I made in the main forum
Ok I don't know what you guys have done in the patch but I don't believe the story about the slowdown being caused by cut scenes that's for sure -this is what just happened to me :-
Using Fraps I loaded my save game, un-docked from the station I was at and headed to the nearest gate, during the trip I had average fps of 35 I went through the gate and travelled for about 30 seconds in a straight line recording an average of 38fps. I then quit the game.
I installed the patch, restarted my PC and did exactly the same thing. This time I recorded average fps of 85 and 110 respectively, at one point I got just over 130fps.
I'm just shocked Surprised oh and for anyone who thinks I'm just a lying bag of guff here's a screenshot taken about 10 seconds after arriving in the sector (Circle of Profit I think is was called)

Yeah unless the patch is miniscule, and Egosoft didn't follow some sort of Steam guideline (providing the update notes), AND forgot to update the version number on the pre-game menu, the update isn't going out through Steam yet. I checked periodically all last night, and tried again this morning, and still nothing. Tonight after work I am going to try deleting clienregistry.blob and see if that forces an update, otherwise... getting a little frustrated.
Guess I'll just keep enjoying FO3 (which runs beautifully) while I wait for something to happen.

My performance for 1.2.1 patch
My Comp:-
2x opteron 2Ghz Processors
2GB DDR Ram dual channel 3200
6800 Gt 256MB clocked to 435Mhz
Sound Adigy 2 ZS
Super super silky smooth performance in The Wall sector so should be good and playable everywhere now. Before The Wall sector was 2fps. Massive performance improvement for me at least 30fps now thank u Egosoft
)))))
Even putting graphics up higher I get the same fantasic performance defo a CPU performance improvement in 1.2.1
Tried it only on a bad performance v 1.2 save

This has been an annoying thing with auto-pilote since who knows when. I rarely use auto to fly through gates unless I am not in a hurry to get somewhere. Those few seconds can make a lot of profit.
I've noticed even when this doesn't happen, most ships act funky when going through a gate, even the player ship on autopilot - it'll head near the gate but outside the ring, then turn around and go back and forth a few times before it actually goes THROUGH the gate. Has anyone else noticed this?
