Where is the script for automatic factory management?

Post by xCLAVEx »

Like say you have 100,000 in each factory but you want it to give you the excess money automatically, where can I get that script?

Description: If you have lots of stations you need this script! Automatically tranfers credits between all stations and the player account to keep station funds at a set level. Fixed miss calculation thanks to Eben

Copy it to your scripts folder and type "Thereshallbewings" (note the capital T) while flying in space to activate the "Script Editor" menu item in the command console. A confirmation beep will sound on correct activation. Then you can load the script.

Hmm..I typed it in with the capital but heard no confirmation sound. Am I supposed to also see the dialog on the screen while flying around in space?

Type it when you are flying in space (not in stations or whatever), without the quotes though. Works here. It will give you a script editor option in command console of the ship you are flying in.

The problem of that script is that you must run it everytime you need to rebalance the credits. I´ve made one resident script that must be assigned to each station so it checks for credits (more or less than specified) and transfer from player account automatically. So a station allways has, let´s say, 100k in its account. A log is added with the total money transfered, so its easy to know how much profitable is a factory.
I will publish this script tomorrow.

bye,

The station accountant script was bugged with me. It put all my money on 1 station, rest got the 100k I put in and every 50 seconds the 4+million credits shifted 1 station every 50 seconds. I never saw more then 150k credits in my own account though, so I reverted back to a savegame as you can't kill that script either

I have been using the station accountant script for a while and it seems to work fine for me.. The only bad thing about it is that you can't kill it. Not that i have needed to yet. I wonder in the Scripting doco will tell you how to get rid of those types of scripts.

If anyone is thinking of changing the script, i have read a suggestion (not sure where i read it) that suggests to attach the script to something that can be destroyed, like an asteroid, so if you do need to get rid of the script then you can just destroy the asteroid.

Sounds like a good idea to me, not that i can do it myself , i'm not to good with scripting just yet.
