Help with simple mod.

Hey, I've been playing X2 since it's launch, practically, never actually bothered on hitting the forums or finding mods/scripts for it just recently when i started playing again.

One thing that kindof bothers me is that ships are somewhat too slow for my taste, so I'd like to know how to make them faster. Ie. 2 times faster, so all of them stay ballanced against eachother but faster.

I've been looking around and found how to mod stuff and get to the Tships T file, but after that, i just dont know what the heck to do... I dont know what numers are what. little help?

Try Doubleshadow's stuff. I'm using it everytime I want to mod something!
here I have uploded the whole pack (just in case you miss something -> SetUp files)

Changing Numbers..
in TShips you have listed all the ships. if you open it with the TXT Editor you'll find the names and everything listed up. A good overview allowes changing things like speed very easily. After modifying that you have to save the TXT File and pack it with the mod manager.
Open the Mod Manager and then open the last (or create a new Either with the standard ones, for example 05.cat, or in the folder "mods" with any name) .cat where you pack the files in with "add" (directory = types)

Like that you can change every stats of any ship

thanks man, that was really helpfull. I'll get into it tonight, If i have any problems or questions, i'll yell.

Also, I downloaded Harlok's Top Gun mod which did it for me, the argon discoverer there has a max speed of 903 (more than the 800 ish i was planning to put into it by doubling the standart speed... I'll see how fast are his freights)

That disco speed is always confusing to people that start a new game with less than XTREME settings. When you take the easier settings the game gives you speed upgrades and doesn't do them right with the starting disco for some reason.

figures, since Ban Danna tells Julian that he only has HALF the upgrades about engines, cargo and rudder out there, and when i saw the speed up to 903 got so excited it was just HALF of the power

then docked on an equipment dock to find out i was stacked to the max... oh well, saved me the creds on stacking to the max

btw, thanks for such a great mod, you have ships from pretty much anything spacial... I'd really love to see Homeworld ships out there, if there isnt any already, havent seen all the content you threw in yet.

yeah, Harlock's Top Gun is really good!!! I like it and the ships are very very cool especialy the Teladi are nice

@Harlock: But the "Read-Text" Stuff is annoying.... I hope you fix that in TopGun 3.0

@J Terranova: I can't promise you original Homeworld ships, but the Pandora Team workes on a mod that brings some homeworld-like ships in the game
