I could just about stick the beetles well we already have space flies but flappy dragons was one step too far. Maybe a no creatures button should be an option for that mod. However I know this is veering off topicAl wrote:Got to admit that the dragons and beetles just about put me off XTM completely.
Please no silly critters like the XTM Dragons in vanilla X3.

I agree, if I wanted to have an involvement with Dragons, etc. I'd be playing something else, not X3. A "no critters" switch would be the answer (also suggested elsewhere I think) to satisfy everyone and probably be really easy to implement with insignificant game overhead/impact.
That said I see no reason why space resident life forms is something that shouldn't be included as long as it doesn't come straight from Dungeons & Dragons (showing my age here) and the like. A fine line sometimes I know between different peoples tastes, that's why a "no critters" switch might be the answer.

Pent Quad core 3.2Ghz and upperBugMeister wrote:how about the min spec requirement for X3:TC

2GB RAM (at least)
768MB video (at least 1 card)
is prety much a game PC standard in our days to "crunch" any game even heavier than X3
but the old and cheaper dual core would give a good bit as well.
cheers

I have none of those things and can run X3 just fine. TC is using the same game engine, so I can't imagine it being that much more.

I can play COD4 on 1280x1024 full detail including AA, running dual monitors. I only have an AMD dual core with 2Gb and 512MB GFX.
As Rapier says, it's based on the X3 engine so is not likely to be leagues apart from those requirements - undoubtedly higher, but shoudn't be dramatically increased.
