Now i have used some terms that can be found in the Xtended mod so bare with me as i didn't use vanilla X3 as a base game



Unusual Day in a Trader’s Life



Chapter 1: The Strange Sightings

Argon Mercury Tanker – Sector “Emperor Mines”

Captain Jack Ornov, a trader with no worries in his life apart from trading, was on his way from Ore Belt with his Mercury Tanker and its escort Buster, flown by a skilled pilot named Pierson who was a Lieutenant, to try and sell some ore somewhere in the Southern Paranid Sectors.

Captain Jack Ornov was one of the commanders of a Titan at the battle of Omycron Lyarea, he was one of the few who survived after the destruction of the Titan by the Khaak.
After the battle Jack quitted his job for a more simple life of a trader.
He then needed an escort as Pirate attacks were increasing and so he found Pierson, an old friend.

He jumped to Emperor Mines and finds an enemy on his radar.
He scanned the ship and saw that it is a Khaak Interceptor at about 25km north from the northern gate, then saying to himself.

"No big deal my Mosquitos and buster will make short work of it"

And so he waits with the Mercury and Buster until it was 8km away. He fires his first missile, nothing, not even 1% of shield down, he thought it didn't hit at that distance; He waited until 5km fired another missile still nothing.

“What kind of ship is this?” He thinks to himself

He double checks the Shields this ship has and finds out that this ship is a CV class ship with 10MJ of shield, it starts firing, the Mercury’s shields going fast Ornov then starts running with his Autopilot activated and was manning the turret to find out that Pierson with the Buster had managed to destroy it.

“Good job, Pierson!” said Ornov

“Thank you, Sir!” said Pierson

Pierson was a skilled pilot that had seen many battles but after the battle at Omycron Lyarea where he was under the command of Captain Jack Ornov.
He lost his ship, an Argon Nova, and was injured so the Argon Fleet told him to retire. Pierson still wanted to fight to kill the Khaak for what they’ve done, yet the Argon Fleet refused. One day Captain Jack Ornov needed a skilled pilot as an escort, so he found a job at last, a job next to someone he knows.

He continues his way to Paranid Prime and when he was around 20KMs from the South Gate, ships jump in the center of the sector, Ornov suddenly says to himself.

"Oh no, 4 Khaak Clusters, I hope the Paranid are ready to engage them"

But he was so wrong, he checked the radar just to be sure his deductions were right and found 3 Khaak Destroyers and 4 Khaak Clusters and they were making short work of the Paranid Trading Station in the center of the sector and just 1 Nemessis and 10 fighters engaged.

“What are the Paranid doing they should be engaging with more than a Nemessis and 10 Fighters?”

They watched helplessly how the battle progressed while still going for the gate but before the battle ended, they reached the gate.


Sector “Paranid Prime”

Once arrived in Paranid Prime he finds a Military 25MJ Shield Production Facility where he could sell his cargo.

Jack Ornov’s Personal Log:
‘I open the BBS and I find that the battle that took place in the adjacent sector was in the News and they were saying to stay clear as the Khaak were still in the sector. I wonder why they didn’t send in more ships and where is the Paranid Fleet? This sector is defenseless, apart from a couple of MM6.
Oh well it’s none of my business better meet up with Pierson and set course for the Trading Station in Duke’s Domain.’

The Captain and the Lieutenant met up and they discussed a few things

“Why do you think the Paranid never took action?” asked Pierson

“I don’t know but we should get going to the Trading Station in Duke’s Domain before they jump in this sector too, this sector is defenseless, and we can’t go back because the Khaak are still in the sector.” Said Ornov

“Sir, may I ask why Duke’s Domain?” asked Pierson

“I have an old friend there, she might help us get a jump drive to jump to Argon Prime.” Said Ornov

“Isn’t there another route?” asked Pierson

“There is but the gate is damaged, a Paranid Battleship crashed into it after it lost power a stazura ago, I hope they fix it soon.” Said Ornov

And so they set course to Duke’s Domain, their heads pumping with questions, questions like: Why didn't the Paranid engage? ; Why was the main sector of the Paranid defenseless? ; Why was the Khaak Interceptor ship immune to missiles? And one question that now flows to Pierson’s head also: Why did the Paranid Battleship loose power so suddenly?
