This was in the "more info" section of X:Gold German Version. What does this mean, and how do I do it? I just want to make sure I can start it up with menus in English.

XTension.exe -language 44
is the extension to use. The name "XTension.exe" has to match the name of your EXE plus watch the spaces between "exe" and "-language" and also between "language" and "44".

So in place of the filename "XTension.exe" I type "XTension.exe -language 44" as a filename?

Left-click onto the properties of the X shortcut and put -language44 at the end of whats already in the 'target' box.

It's not a command I have to type in DOS, is it? 'Cause I have Windows ME, and it doesn't like DOS.

And some follow up questions to clarify this issue at last.

1. Do I get english subtitles, help, tips and menus in XBTF?
2. Does the english speech patch work with XBTF?
3. Do I use the -language 44 parameter for XBTF as I should for XT?

Suggestions:

a. Why not make a X Collectors Edition when x2 comes out that includes the whole enchilada?

b. If (a) doesnt apply, why not make X Gold English available thru download paying the same way with PayPal?
c. Make the english manual available to those who have to buy the german version even if its not important.

(Thinking of buying the German X Gold but wanna make sure i can read and hear all in English (Except the manual of course which i included in point c) because i know zip about german)

The parameter tell's the game to use the English words rather than the German ones, essentially making it exactly the same as the English version. There are no 'special' additions, its just the same, only in English.

They both use the same speech file, so i would imagine so, but i'm not 100% sure.

Yup.

c. Make the english manual available to those who have to buy the german version even if its not important.

Theres nothing in it, so there isnt really much point - however, if its so important, i would be willing to send people the XT manual that came on the English disc, and i'm sure theres someone out there who would be willing to do the same with any XBtF documentation that came on the XGold disc. (i have the original versions and the XBtF manual was in paper-form.)
