As far as I can gather. it WORKS. Well, as far as i know. If anything else crops up, I'll let you know.
Thanks Dave Toome for that.

:D

Thanks for being a beta-tester !

Updated original post with v1.0.1.1, all sytems go.

My only prob. now is that I can't play X3, cos my DVD drive just
downgraded itself to only reading CDs, the drive has probably
got welded to the X3 disc, oh well down to the shop I go.

Ok, I just downloaded 1.0.2.0. When I click on any sector I get an App error:

Integer division by zero
0xc0000094 occurred at 0x00402dbd

I'm running on X2 threat game file. Any ideas?

Whoops, a single character typo after updating for X3 2.0
caused it to stop working with X2 (so much for thorough testing).

donotdespisethesnake, thanks for finding this, I wouldn't have known otherwise :)

Updated the download link in original post in this thread for version 1.0.2.1, which
is now OK for X2.

Was just wondering if anyone who's tried this has
any suggestions as per the options dialog (or any suggestions).

I though it might be likely that someone might have some,
but was worried about posting due to the 'don't post in old threads' forum rules.

Looked at date of last posting...

Right, chaps, time to give it a go m'self, then. I have a pet project in the X-realm that involves building an empire from the ground up. Literally. The first thing I did in X2 was to mine Ore belt of the small stuff, and start filling in with Mines and factories and SPPs. X3 is bog-awful for asteroid mining and the Ore belt Op takes Forever :( . So anything that moves things along, in that respect, is very welcome indeed.

Had almost forgotten about this topic :)

Got to say that I'm using this util quite a lot myself, having recently re-started X3.
Can't be bothered to go scanning all those asteroids (again).

Updated this to work with XTM0.7 and XFP4 mods.

Also now there's a sortable complete asteroid list,
which I've found quite useful.

Thank you! Sorry to scare you! Is there a link to the upgraded version, I've just gone the same route as you, for my sins.

It's on the first post in this thread,
I've moved it nearer to the top to make it more obvious.

I just tried running the program (installed today) and it asked me where x games or whatever was and when I point to the correct directory it crashes. Hopefully this lil bug is squished soon. :)

If you're playing XTM 0.73 then try:
http://www.Exogenesis.co.uk/AsteroidSee ... .0.3.1.exe
(no real need to uninstal the old version)

Thanks for the update but it still crashes when I direct it to the X3 folder.

Are you running any 'Universe altering' mods ?
i.e. ones that would add anything to the 'map' file, like new sectors.

Golden oldie, now for X3:TC

Just realized I made a booboo, been using this myself with X3:TC for quite a while,
but forgot to upload the new version 1.1.0.0 (for X2, X3:R & X3:TC).

Never exactly mega-popular, but I find it extemely useful for complex planning.

Don't forget this is a spoiler, i.e. it shows the whole map with asteroids.

The link in the first post gives the new version,
even though it says 1.0.3.0 you get 1.1.0.0

The direct new version link is:
AsteroidSeekerInstaller.exe
.
.
.
.
Description & functionality is the same as on the first post in this thread.

(If moderators think this topic should be revamped in a new thread,
please say so, this thread/util is in the Guides sticky as X2/X3:R
so it's a 'loose end' for TC so to speak)

You should probably change the first thread, including the title, to make it clear this has been updated for X3. With the amount of necromancy these past few days, I had my keys ready before even reading. ;)

I don't think a new thread would be out of the way either, if you preferred.
