I'm not familliar with a drive acronym of HL... it could be any number of things ranging across: Hyper Light, Hyper Luminous, Hyper Locational, Heisenberg Lagrange...
Though the way you've used it looks similar to the Wave Motion Drive in Space Battleship Yamato... However your mechanics look different.

It is the name of a being more ancient then the galaxy itself. It is, in essence one HUGE parasite that infects ships and subverts them into itself
and becoming stronger in the process. An hour ago I lost contact with the ceaborn shipyard it reported that it read a large organic mass emerging
from subspace 5 light-years away, that was the last we heard of them.
We must ascertain the forces that (*) has managed to produce BEFORE we attack. I have prepared my personal battleship and fitted it with a HL drive
that will prevent our detection while we scout the Seaborne shipyards on the outer rim.
I await your shuttle.
Once you are aboard we will discuss how to deal with (*) while the ship reaches Seaborne
Note: I have to go off in half an hour to get some sleep. (if you read this before half and hour is up just post anyway)

It struck completely without warning and devoured every living thing it found, most of our ships didn’t even have time to get there shields up. My main fleet is on there way to perform a counter-strike but we desperately need more ships if you can send anything then have it meet

send everything and I mean EVERYTHING at (*) now before he is able to conter-strike. My fleets have already struck 15 infested outposts but are loseing momentum we have to fall back to regroupe and I need you to keep (*) pinned down while we re-arm.
PS: Wonder were Kurt is.......

The integration of (*) with Kavosih brain waves caused the AI to become one massive neural net that could absorb any matter and power source and integrate it into itself becoming more intelligent in the process. The (*) entity had absorbed the planet then gone dormant when it had run out of mass to continue expanding. The Malkars Fire collected samples of (*) but was infested when the ships engineers attempted to probe its neural net and caused (*) to re-activate.
Disaster was averted when the temporal research ship "Enfolder"
overloaded its experimental temporal core to force (*) into an alternate universe.
