BTW Tensin..

Why do you class the Steltek as Kilrathi on your page¿
Steltek would be misc, but surely not kilrathi..
If you got a monopoly on an operating system, and you make tons of money by supporting it, why fix it?

Tensi/Cycrow: Been testing out V1.60 of ShipCreator.

Good news: Used it to import the X-Wing from DeadlyDa's 2.3.4b DDRS, worked a treat. No graphic miss-print when sitting in the cockpit and the guns fire. :D

Bad news: (well for me anyway)... spurred on by the success of the X-Wing, on to the Dralthi, T'Loth, and CyclonBasestr Mk1 I went.. using the same method. But they won't fire their guns (except the rear turret of the Dralthi works fine).

V1.60 seemed to find all commonents/turrets/bods etc.. looked good during the import. I know the Dralthi front guns are special (gattling gun) but the other two should be fairly normal I thought.

btw Cycrow... great work on that ShipCreator.

The Dralthi hasn't been updated to 1.60 yet. So that would be the problem there.

Make sure the Cylon Basestar is version 2.3.4b (note the "b"). If it is and it's not working then there's a problem with the XSP I need to look at.

The T'Loth changed names from a version or two ago (it didn't conform to the bulk of my ships) and the current version (2.3.4b) may need to be manually put in.

Re-exported the ISD. Hopefully it will now work but it's untested. Also untested is an update to teh Glorious Heritige.

Got the bulk of the XFP ships updated, and I think all of Deadly's. Also put up some teasers from the MegaShip mod on my Stargate page.

I rebalanced the Drakh based on personal preferrence and general balance.
I rebalanced mine to match a guesstimate of yours.

I'm curious how large this is in-game. Should this be up-converted to an M6?

@ Tensin: have you thought of adding the finished ships to the brill DDRS mod?

have the whole finished thing in one mod update?

also: the thunderbolt star fury the cocpit is out of balance and the cannons dont fire.

That's odd. I've flown the thunderbolt (unless I've done an update and forgotten) which version are you flying.

As to making a mod with them all in it? No, I don't have the free time to keep the XSPs updated. I'd suggest that the XFP mod is a good one to start (as it has most of the ships) and then add the rest. Deadly has a good number as well.

Honestly: I think there are too many ships to put in one mod.

A few pieces of news

Post by tensin »

I've standardized the way that I name XSPs, and assign ship IDs. Right thos moment, this only effects my rebalanced ships.

All of my rebalanced ships have been renamed (the XSP, the ShipID, and (importantly) the .DAT). They will need to be DL'd and replaced manually. They have all be set to version 1.0. I also made sure all of the "Extra" tabs reflected the original model authors, that all had English Language files, and that Ship Naming matched my new conventions.

Hopefully this standardization will prevent me from ever having to make people manually update again.

Secondly: There was something of a SNAFU involving the XFP ships. I *think* they are all back at the version that I had them.

Also: if there's anyone that wants to help with grunge work, I've got a ton of tasks (alternately, anyone skilled in making pages that build themselves from databases is also invited to help).

Tensin, do you have Balgot's ORIGINAL Battlestar Galactica xsp? Apparently you've altered it on your site (however it is denoted as Balgot's on the site, but in the Ship Installer, it is readily apparent that you've made changes to it as you've added your name).

The problem is, I had two fully functional Galactica's in my game, each with a functioning task force. I made the mistake of downloading your updated version, and I lost my hangars, my cockpits, my turrets, my cargo space and my shields. Needless to say, I have about 130 fighters who are completely lost.... The dummies, components, cockpits files are not showing in Cycrow's installer now.

Thanks!

I tried to go clean up the webpage involved, as I understand the confucion... but both web programs are crashing, so I need to reboot.

I believe the one in OriginalXSPs (which does not have TEN in the ShipID) is balgot's original. You can DL the XSP of this version by clicking on either of the blue links (one in the spreadsheet, one in the detail).

It is possible that even this one is altered from balgots (though it should not be any different from the one I've been using for sometime). If so: you can force-revert back to Balgots by simply replacing the line in the TShips with the one from his website. (always backup files you are altering).

I'll pop up a link to the T-File entry itself when my web-software starts cooperating.

It appears that all of your BSG links, even the one for Balgot's original, are modified versions (1.2 and 2), and these new modified ships are missing components in the ship install program. I can't see if they work, as my game crashes whenever I look in the property manager (the reason for my other post re CTD; thought it was Cycrow's installer, but it appears now that I've "upgraded" the BSG, and my game doesn't like it).

I really need to find the original Balgot's one so that I can at least get my game functioning again. Can't try your new BSG's until I stop these CTD's.

Thanks man. Appreciate your help. You're doing a great job with compiling these. I understand what a nightmare it must be trying to keep it all together. You might want to start more of a spreadsheet, keeping all versions. It's clear now that if you change a version of a ship, and someone "reinstalls" it, it's not going to lead to a happy universe.
