Excellent conspiracy work going on there. Jackson is obviously gambling just as much as Max is. What I cannot really see is on the basis of what Jack can see himself becoming No 1. To me this could only happen if he gets rid of Max.
I agree with Daz, it kind of looks like a trap, though I think Hagman really wants to get rid of Law. Well, those new drives should allow Max to slip into Law's sector without going through the heavily guarded gate. That is good for a start.
Re-fitting those XL's does appear as though Max has got yet another trick up his sleeves. Could he play with the idea of luring the Xenon from the sector North of Law's base into the fight?
Anyway, lotsa possibilities there
Looking forward to the next part.

Well i'm feeling a little disillusoined with Max at the moment, and wondering if he has changed over time to become more like the people he started off despising.
Remember that, he has killed innocents and he has also fraudulently aquired vast amounts of money.
Is he now working only for the greater benefit Max? if so, then except for his lack of brutality, how is he any better than those he continues to oppose?
Ledgendary exploits alone do not necessarily make a hero.
Tis a good read Steve, but has Marteene died completly? I think the lack of trust between Max and his (so called) allies is making me wonder exactly what 'his' real aims are now.

Rogues Revenge is the third book in a trilogy that begun when XT was released. It's been published, with a few breaks, for several years now.
The first two books will be on the X2 disk and pdf versions of each are available from my web site, where each chapter is published as I write them.
The first book is my first faltering attempt at fiction writing. I hope it improves over time. Thanks to the encouragement of people here I'm now doing the undergraduate Creative Writing course at my local University.

No feedback from the lecturer, who is a friend of mine, as he missed the seminar that discussed my first piece. It was a short story based around memories sparked by an old photo of my father. Not really a story but a discourse on memory really, built up of scenes from my childhood leading up to the last time i saw him just before he died, about 10 years or so ago.Al wrote:Hows the course going Steve? Have you managed to impress the lecturer yet?
Al
It was well received, people liked it a whole lot more than I did. By the time I finished the third draft I was sick of it really. Because the other people in my group are all 19 years old I suspect they over-rate anything with a bit of age behind it, if you know what I mean.
The quality of their work varies, one guy writes really good little poems and a girl is writing a quite interesting high fantasy short story. I was taken straight into the second year on the strength of my Rogue writing so they've had a year drop on me but overall they're still groping for their voices. I'm sure some of them have the potential to become very good writers. They are certainly a lot better than me at coming up with interesting short story ideas even if they sometimes lack the life experience or knowledge of period and detail to pull them off. But that will come with time.
My imagination is still confined to sweeping sword and starship epics but i'm working on a Vietnam ghost story at the moment, which i'm quite pleased with. Not sure how well it will be received though.
